If the sonics are bad this year(possible) and end up in the lottery(likely)....and fluked #1 pick they would have to select Greg Oden (its a no brainer) then we'd have FOUR young centres. That to me is very funny.
In a way having that many good centers could be a good thing though. I mean if any of them show development this year and the sonics still suck and end up getting the number 1 pick, the sonics could trade 2 of them for draft picks or other positions they need.
If the Sonics had the worst record in the league, that still wouldn't gauruntee them the top pick since the NBA uses the lottery system. Just having them miss out on the playoffs qualifies them for the first pick. Now its more less likely to get the top pick if your the 14th worst team, but it still gives you a chance. Matter of fact, look at who the worst team last year was record wise. The Portland Trailblazers, but the Raptors got the pick. .Last ten years. Out of the last 10 years, only in 2 of those did the "worst" team get the 1st pick. So I wouldn't say that 1st pick is a lock. I think the Sonics will probably end up with the 4th or 5th worst record anyways.

That was the point I was making
Yeah AlmostI bet no one expect the great emergence of Kevin Durant but by god he made a name for himself throught 06/07 so whoever the Sonics draft there going to be drafting a star.
