Just seen on MLB that Hughes is getting the start tomorrow. Ah well one more chance to choke up a game in the home ball park, reduce his impending free agency at a fat contract. The Yankees need every game to stay alive, starting Hughes is not the row to hoe. I could hope we'd get lucky but I've not noticed that whenever he gets in there.

...he'll be on a very short leash, just as he was in his last start...and was pulled early by Girardi.

Nice to see you're keeping a close eye on Hughes Joe. But isn't that like closing the barn door after the horses already ran out?

I admire staying positive until the end but the season is over. They can bring Andy Hawkins back to start the game for all I care.

...he doesn't really have any options, especially now since CC is done.

At this point of the season he'd have NOTHING to lose by giving someone like Warren or even Kelley a shot. Giving the ball to Hughes AGAIN you mine as well just throw in the towel. Because Hughes pitching is pretty much a guaranteed loss. Now watch him surprise the hell out of all of us.

If they drop this one and the Indians win it's over. It doesn't matter.
