Checking out the ESPN NY article this am which stated that Joba was seen packing his locker room items prior to batting practice. Hope he and his buddy Hughes enjoy free agency.
Some team will take a chance, and I bet he does well somewhere else, something went wrong with his team relationship and may have hurt his game, it's a real shame, he has the talent, who really knows.
Someone will give an arm that still reaches 96-98 on the gun a shot. Whether he takes advantage of it or not who knows
...actually, I don't think he was ever the same after Pudge almost took Joba's head off while trying to throw out a runner at 2B...Joba dove to the ground to keep from getting drilled by the throw and managed to hurt himself...and has not been worth a damn since.
believe it or not, there were 8 pitchers with an ERA worse than Joba on the Yankees... granted, of the 8, 5 had pitched less than 3 innings all season, and the other 3: Brett Marshall with 10 innings at 5.40 ERA, Phil Hughes with 145 and 2/3 innings at 5.19 ERA, and David Huff with 29 and 2/3 innings with a 5.16 ERA. Joba had a 4.97 ERA in 41 and 2/3 innings.
...I know he's been bad at home but the stat that blew me away is that Hughes' home ERA of 6.32 is the worst EVER for a Yankee regular starter.
...hey, don't be so wishy washy and don't sugar coat it like that. Just come right out and say how you feel about Hughes.
