There really isn't a difference between private and public in this sense. All of these posters can be anonymous if they choose.

That's you making up rules to fit what you'd like instead of what the actual "rules" are. Thus, irrelevant.

 

You should make more posts in the thread where you claim everybody else is making a big deal. That should help.

OK, if anyone has any last digs on me with regards to this incident, get them in now if you would like me to respond. Otherwise, I'm putting this behind me and pay closer attention to the important threads, like OJ Simpson stealing cookies.

 

I don't care what people PM, other than things that could be taken as a true threat. But for somebody to think personal insults on the board are out of line, but personal insults on PM are fine, that's ridiculous.

I don't think Further/God should be banned. But he's coming out looking like a victim even though he got involved in sending personal attacks.

If I am making a "big deal" of anything, it's that I don't understand why you guys are so invested in this, and I'm fine with that.

 

You can only make a "big deal" about things that I deem worthy of you making a big deal about.

Digs may have been the wrong word. I meant that I have been answering every question people have had about my role in this, and I am going to be finished with that soon. So if you have questions now would be the time. Or, if you simply wanted to comment and have me reply. But digs did apply to some of the posts, even if those posts were deserved. Your line of posts I think take digs at me, which I'm fine with, they are not name calling, they are saying what I agree with, that I acted inappropriately. But I did mean more than just digs.

 

You're right to call it stylistic. I think there are many of us--myself certainly included--that say the same things that PapaG does. His particular genius is to say it in such a clever way as it gets under the skin of the target. As for me, I'm more of a clumsy, blunt instrument.

However, there is a huge double standard on this board. The strange thing is, I've been on both sides, as have several other posters. Sometimes it favors you, other times it works against you.

This is where the problem comes. The double standards exist in the moderating, but more importantly, with the posters.

I admit I will go after posters sometimes, but I have no problem with posters coming back at me. My problem is with the posters that attack, and then start whining and playing the victim card.
