Small Markets, Northern Markets, you'd better build through the draft and trades because the LBJs of the world won't sign with you.

Small + Northern Markets better already be at the conference finals level if they want to lure the best.

It's hard for the Blazers/Timberwolves/Bucks of the world to compete, especially against big, warm, and low-tax cities.

LeBron won't go back to cold winters.

NY has cold winters. So does Brooklyn.

I think that's more of the point, if he leaves Miami he's going to LA.

I think the tax situation is one of the bigger problems. I remember posting on this board abiout how LeBron would lose almost $9m of his contract just based on NYC and state of New York income taxes, so even how taking less money in Miami actually netted him more in the long-haul of the contract. If I could figure that out, I'm quite sure he has financial advisers who could do the same.

With his marketability, that makes sense. He'd still give up millions in income tax, though, and also in how much he pays for a sweet house on the beach in Newport, Malibu, wherever.

Yeah, its a bad move for all involved. :ghoti:

he's better to stay in Miami. LA could end up being another Dwightmare for him.

shrug. When small market fans like us say it it's one thing. When the best player in the League says it on a national stage, I think it's noteworthy. No one nationally is talking about leveling the playing field, and no one ever will.

LOL, could you imagine the Tpups suggesting a warm weather tax, or a low-state-income-tax tax?
