I, too, was going to suggest bringing BD back. But I think he'd be an infrequent poster. How much time do you think they'll allow him to post on S2 from prison? I got along with him just fine, but I'm just wondering.
I'd much rather bring back mixum or papag well before BD. Mixum and papag may have broken the rules, but I don't think either were bad people, Ben Davis was a bad person, or at least his persona was that of a bad person.
Didn't he tell stories of how awful of a person she was? I think I got along with him relatively well. Definitely better than any of the other banned people. He was just a wannabe thug, they aren't hard to deal with on the internet.
I thought his issue was that he asked to be removed, because he made the choice that it was better for him to not have to deal with people here? I don't remember him doing anything horrendous here (although the FAMS thing he started and the yelling at homeless person thing are the only thing I remember about him).
BD503 and PapaG got into it pretty hardcore if I recall correctly. Something about him telling PapaG that he was going to like, sick internet hackers on him? And PapaG freaking out and leaving the forum for a while because of it? Am I remembering this correctly?
The trouble is, all our moderators are too nice. We need some big bruisers who will knock heads around. The ESPN Laker moderator used to threaten posters that he would beat them up. He was a rough guy. Lived an hour from me. Banned me. Maris witnessed it. Ask him. Another thing we need is for moderators to fight each other. Or wait till Ed O is gone temporarily, then ban Mixum behind Ed's back. We need sneaky mod entertainment. This is what kept the Roman Empire tolerable to its slaves, myths about gods fighting on Mt. Olympus.
I'd like to see Denny use his great fortune to fund something to help us little people, like sumo matches between his moderators. He can certainly afford those big loose diapers. We could cheer for the Blazer moderators over the Yankee moderators. Denny could MC the event and ref some matches.
I thought it was about posting a picture of a gun that provoked PapaG to freak out -- and that led to everyone changing their avy's to pictures of guns?

I noticed a few things. A couple former posters (Bodyman? Sug) haven't been here in a long time (or if bodyman has, I'm brain farting) and wow...Ben Davis was very angry. Hopefully he sought the help he needed and is living a good, healthy life.
