Just got home from working out there over the weekend. That place is AMAZING! Not only scenic, but very clean. Their Old Towne is beautiful. If you get a chance, I would recommend a trip there. [IMG]

Yeah, I really want to visit there and Vancouver some time...for those that have been to both, which would you recommend more?

Looks beautiful, I've never been, but I've heard it's the only place in Canada where people aren't friendly. Did you find that at all true?

From what I've heard definitely Montreal.

Vancouver is often called the most boring big city in North America.

I absolutely love Vancouver BC, but I have to admit I kind of like boring vacations.

I wouldn't say Vancouver is boring at all. Its one of the prettiest, cleanest and well put together cities as well.

As for Montreal, I've always wanted to go. I think the French Canadian culture is interesting. I've been to Toronto before and thought that was a really cool city.

I spent two summers in Montreal in college. Other than Portland, it's one of my favorite cities in North America. One of the best jazz scenes in the world.

Montreal is fun. You don't really need to know any French to get by. French drivers are a bit notorious for how fast and erratic they are so be forewarned, especially in the winter.

Things to see: Mont Royal (best view of the city), Old Montreal (romantic, European-styled part of the city, cobblestone roads, etc.), and Rue Sainte-Catherine.

Best times to visit: Jazz Festival (late June), Just for Laughs Comedy Festival (July), and Fête des neiges de Montréal (January).

Vancouver is pretty laid back so I can see why people would think it's boring. Avoid Surrey.

Some Francophones don't speak English. I think sometimes visitors can be shocked that people in stores or restaurants aren't all bilingual. As with any foreign country the amount of effort you put forth to communicate politely will be reciprocated in kind.

I like Vancouver, but it's just like Seattle. Montreal feels like Europe. And I loved that they all speak French. All the damn signs are even in French. And Zags..... Toronto is very cool as well.

I've long thought that we should invade Canada. There isn't anywhere in Iraq or Afghanistan that I want to visit but there are many places in Canada that I have been to or want to see. If we're going to spend all that money invading a country it should be a place the average American gives a shit about.

It's why I thought Batum would be such a good defender. He has those long arms. When he raised them in surrender, he would be difficult to shoot over.
