I'm torn. Someone in my standard ESPN league really wants Gronk. I picked up Jordan Cameron in week 2 which is looking like a steal. I originally took Gronk in the 5th round or so and hoped I could just hold the fort down until he came back. Now he is making Gronk expendable.

I'm kinda thin at WR after my top 2. (Brandon Marshall, and Randall Cobb)

He offered me Demarius Thomas for Gronk. This trade is especially enticing now as My matchup this week is against the only other undefeated team in our league, and Randall Cobb is on a bye week, and my other WR is Miles Austin.

Do I make the trade now? Or Hold onto Gronk as an insane Flex option to go along with Cameron and hope to hold the fort down for first place this week with a waiver wire add at WR?

...are you allowed to play two TE sets? I thought standard ESPN the Flex position was only RB/WR? If you are allowed the extra TE, then do you think Jor-Cam + Gronk will score more than Jor-Cam + D. Thomas? I think the latter combo will yield more yards...and may be a push for TDs :dunno:

you had me worried, so I checked and it did give me the option of putting Gronk in my flex spot with Cameron already in my TE spot, so I can potentially play both.

I'd be left with a WR Corps of Marshall, and Cobb, and Austin, and thats it.

I'm fine at RB with Arian Foster, Steven Jackson (out), Demarco Murray, Joiqu Belle, Ben Tate (Handcuff), Amhad Bradshaw (may be obsolete soon despite good game),

I'm tempted because of how thin I am at WR, but I also worry I'm taking too much of a short term view to it lol

I'd just keep gronk if you can play him in the flex spot.

I think I would hold on to Gronk. Thomas is nice, but once Gronk comes back he will get a ton of targets. Thomas is part of a 4 headed monster (with Julius, Decker, and Welker). You will get more consistent production with Gronk than Thomas. I wouldn't make a move solely because of BYE week issues.

Which players do you think I should try to trade on my team -- it's a 12 team league? It's fairly competitive top to bottom. No teams are 3-0. Right now I am in 2nd place at 2-1 with the 2nd highest point total.

    (1) QB -- Russell Wilson, Tony Romo
    (2) RB -- Lesean McCoy, Demarco Murray, Steven Ridley, Lance Dunbar
    (2) WR -- Randall Cobb, Pierre Garcon, TY Hilton, Deandre Hopkins
    (1) W/R (I usually put one of my 3 RB's here, but with Ridley struggling...)
    (1) TE -- Jordan Cameron, Antonio Gates
    (1) K -- Matt Prater
    (1) Def - Cowboys

Conventional Wisdom would be I guess to try to trade either a QB or Gates and try to get an upgrade for Ridley. On the other hand, maybe I just wait until Ridley blows up in a game to trade him (at this point that really has not happened). I am okay with keeping my 2 QB's, I can play matchups and it's good to have a good backup if one of these guys gets hurt.

those are some decent QB's for such a deep league. Wonder what Romo could fetch you. I normally put a 3rd RB in flex spot too, Wonder if Romo can fetch you an updrage over Ridley, or an upgrade over Garcon?

Ok I need some fantasy advice on a number of decisions for this coming week:

    1) Drew Brees @ Chi or Phillip Rivers @ Oak? The major caveat to this decision is that I also own Jimmy Graham and Marques Colston, and they usually combine to rack up 40-60% of my total points. Chicago's pass defense is actually pretty crappy this year, while the Raiders are a middling defense. Also this game has an absurd 8:30 AM start time due to the A's playoffs starting that evening.

    2) Houston D/ST @ SF or Titans D/ST vs. Kansas City? Leaning toward Titans.

    3) Pick two out of: Rashard Mendenhall vs Car, Willis McGahee vs. Buf, Jonathan Franklin vs. Det. Alfred Morris is on a bye, and all my other RB options are awful. Carolina has had a great rush defense thus far. Franklin broke out last game, but got injured, and Eddy Lacy is likely returning for the Packers. Right now I'm leaning toward Mendenhall (gotta get a decent number of touches at least?), and McGahee (hoping he hits his stride).

re: Brees/Rivers... I think you have to pick Brees. You just cant afford to sit him. His Floor is higher than Rivers' IMO. Also the Raider's are Awful. I could see Chargers getting a comfortable lead, then milking the clock a bit.

I picked up Rivers off Waivers in week 2. And have him as Backup to Stafford. I was contemplating playing Rivers this weekend too.

I drafted Rivers late but thus far I have only started Brees. Like you said, lower floor, but they both kill it every week so its not too bad of a problem to have.

Started McGahee, hes actually got 9 pts at half thanks to a short TD run.

Should I make this trade? Giving up Randall Cobb and Steven Ridley and getting back Lamar Miller and Kenbrell Thompkins? Sounds crazy but Ridley is pretty horrible right now.

It depends. Your selling low on ridley and buying high on thompkins. If you have faith in Ridley getting back to the main back and out of the doghouse(which I don't) you shouldn't do the trade.
Tompkins is looking good and Brady looks for him in the red zone a lot, that should go down a little bit when gronk and amodola come back but Thompkins plays on the outside not in the slot so he should stay fairly relavent regardless of who else is on the field.
I like Miller a lot more then Ridley but I like Cobb more then everyone else and I don't like giving up the best player in the deal in most cases. If your in need of a little stability at RB I'd do the deal, if not I wouldn't.

Depending on your league, there are a lot more really decent WR waiver options than RB or TE. (RB seems especially a crapshoot this year). But D. Thomas with Evil Peyton Manning might be beastly. Doing the trade gives you a chance to solidify one WR spot and allow you go shop for the best flex.

I actually picked up Blount this week. I don't think Ridley's getting back into the Starter spot unless Blount has a 13 carry, 12 yard day with 2 fumbles or something.

That is kind of how I feel... I also have Brandon Bolden so if Ridley totally sucks I have Bolden. My fear though is that is a committee most of the season. At WR I also have Garcon, Hilton, Hopkins, and Harvin but I do hate giving up the best player. Hmmmm torn.

Lesean McCoy and Demarco Murray. I rejected the trade yesterday. I would like a 3rd RB better than Ridley/Bolden, but I think it makes sense to wait and see

Should I pick up Houston's Defense?

It looks like I am going to make the playoffs but I will not get a BYE. I have the Carolina defense, which is pretty stout, but in weeks 14 through 16 they play the Saints twice! I am thinking of picking up Houston's defense now because they play Jacksonville in week 14.

Ok, so I have #4 waiver and I am actually thinking of using my waiver to pick up this defense. They play Oakland this week so someone might actually pick them up. I am considering dropping either Terrence Williams or Donald Brown. We can play 2 WR's, 2RB's, and 1 flex. My WR's are Garcon, Keenan Allen, Percy Harvin, TY Hilton and Williams. My RB's are McCoy, Ridley, Murray and Brown.

I tried to hunt for some trades, but no one's biting.
