<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Is Bonzi Wells in the Charlotte Bobcats' future? Bobcats coach-general manager Bernie Bickerstaff confirmed Tuesday he plans discussions with Wells' representatives sometime this week to gauge the free-agent swingman's interest in signing here.Wells, 30, averaged 13.6 points and 7.7 rebounds last season for the Sacramento Kings. He's also been linked to the Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat. Since scoring at the wing positions is a clear need for the Bobcats, Wells' skill set would be a good fit. Also, the Bobcats are several million under the salary cap, so they could seemingly make a competitive offer. The greater question is a roster spot. The Bobcats already have 15 players under contract, plus a qualifying offer of about $3 million to restricted free agent Melvin Ely. Bickerstaff indicated that resolving Ely's situation probably takes precedence over any other move between now and the start of training camp Tuesday in Wilmington</div>http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/spo...ts/15557463.htm
Wouldn't be a bad signing by the Cats, but I would think with their plans of saving would go towards a better caliber player then Bonzi. Also, they'll need the cap when their young players get out of their rookie contracts.
I don't think they should pick up Bonzi. I mean Bonzi is a good player, don't get me wrong, but like Rok said they should save their money for a better player and to re-sign their yong stars. Also, all this would do is take away minutes from Adam Morrison. I think they should keep this team basically the way it is, maybe get a better backup center. I think the future looks extremely bright for this team: Felton, Morrison, Okafor (if he can stay healthy), Wallace, May, Brezec = scary in the future.
I have a feeling that if the Bobcats do sign Bonzi, they'll drop him in a season or two to clear up cap space.
I agree, I don't think they should sign him. They're not going anywhere any time soon and bonzi is getting up there in age. Save the money for the future.
Would be good for the them. But Moriison's playing time might be lowered. I say maybe use him as trade bait?
Gerald Wallace and Adam Morrison are the future at SG/SF, they are going to spend a boatload on Gerald after this season so why go after pricey swingmen? They need to keep adding more solid bodies, preferably the big variety.

I do not want Wells in Charlotte he just does not fit in, Charlotte is doing great so far an they should keep it up, they keep it up if they don't get Mr. Wells in Charlotte.
