Some great stuff in this article:

"He became the fourth player in NBA history to record at least 100 three-pointers, 350 assists and 80 blocks in a season, joining LeBron James, Scottie Pippen and Kevin Durant"

"I like France. But I don't need to visit as early as I have the last two years. I want to be in the playoffs."

"It's all about the team," Batum said. "That's what I really learned this summer. I knew that I could be the best wing in the tournament in Europe, but I was really focused about the team. I didn't really care about my numbers. If we all do that (with the Blazers), we'll all have great seasons. The numbers will be there. The recognition will be there. The individual rewards will be there. And we'll make the playoffs.

"And sure enough, when the Blazers were running post-practice sprints at the end of the opening day of training camp, it was Batum at the head of the pack in his drills, finishing first, leading the way"

It's good to hear. Let's hope he doesn't have to nurse nagging injuries throughout the season. He definitely has the skill to get there. He just needs to stay healthy to stay.

I hope Stotts will be quicker to make Batum sit when he's injured and let Wright pick up slack.

Last season was tough because Stotts had no one that was capable to start. I think Wright, even moving Matthews to SF, can work without losing too much in terms of production.

Nico, Nico, Nico. You poor misguided kid. It's ALL about the personal numbers. If you fail to pad your stats, the fans and press will roast you alive.

Mags you see that stat about him joining 'Bron, KG and Pip right? Even though he was injured half the season. You realize what an accomplishment that is right?

We all know he could be a star, hopefully he knows it now.

Oh absolutely FAMS. I am talking more about him scoring when we need it. Also, those numbers were based on a high minute total. Further along in the season, I suspect those numbers dropped because his body wasn't able to handle the load. I would like a slight decrease in those numbers, with more efficient scoring, lower minutes and less injuries. I would like him to be 100% if we make the playoffs.

We need Batum as much as we need Aldridge and Lillard. I just want him healthy.

I think they say that in Tennessee, or maybe in Texas.

And if you do put up great personal numbers, all the negative Nancys, Debbie Downers and Chicken Little "fans" on this board will insist we need to trade him for pennies on the dollar TWO years before his contract is up rather than risk him possibly leaving for greener pastures when his contract expires.

I'm targeting Nic as the best Blazer value in my upcoming fantasy draft & hoping to steal him around pick 30. He was putting up tremendous stats the first half of last season (top 15 in the league) before the injury giving value in everything but FTM, and I only see his offensive role expanding. Crossing the fingers on his health, but thats true for every player

It's like what we'd hear about Travis Outlaw every fall.
