Who is the most underrated rookie this year?My vote goes to Shelden Williams. the guy was a monster in college and im sure he can do the same in the NBA. I see him averaging at least10+ppg 5+rpg 1+bpg
I'm gonna be a homer and say Rajon rondo. :shifty2:it's partly true, bc half of everyone says he is a steal, and half say he is a bust. people seem to focus so much on how he can't shoot, yet they fail to realize how good of a passer and defender he is. People tend to favor the all-around players like Rudy Gay, but it always takes players like that a little while to find their niche with their new team. that's why I can't see rudy gay making a big impact earlier, and also why I pick morrison over roy for the rookie of the year. Morrison will know his role on the team and pla that role as well as he can. It might take roy a little bit to figure out what portlands wants him to do.
I can't pick one out, I have it as a tie between two.1. Rajon RondoI'll admit, pre-draft I was thinking Rajon would be a project, but this kid can play. He's 6'1'', extremely athletic, very fast, tenacious defender, good playmaker, and a very hard worker. He still needs to work on his shooting (which he is, source: articles), because it's very shaky right now. But with this kid's hard work, defense, and athleticism, I don't see how he can't become a good player in this league.2. Ronnie BrewerBrewer has been overlooked by many. He is a good defender, very athletic, can play both SG and PG, good ballhandler. His shot is pretty shaky too, but that's because of previous conditions with his arm. But he is going to be a good player in this league, and I think he should have went to Seattle at #10 on draft day. This kid is going to be a player.
1. Marcus Vinicius - Brazilian winger, 6'9" 220 SF who can do a lot on offense. (Hornets). 2. Rajon Rondo - I've been high on this guy for a long time. 6'2" 180, solid. 3. Daniel Gibson - Guys a stud offensivly, only 20, could be the future at PG (Cavaliers). 4. Rodney Carney - This guy has gotten no talk at all, won't get the stats but he's a STUD. 5. Kyle Lowry - The guy is little and tough, a real PG, gets it done in games. (Grizzlies).
Paul Milsap. they guy was huge in the utah Summer League. he's a Jerry Sloan type of player, so he'll be getting the minutes. He is also a first round type of player who was skipped over because of his size.
Rajon Rondo for reasons stated above and not needed to be repeated. Basically a hell of an athlete, intelligent, gritty, plays tough defense, etc. Everything the Celtics need.

Even if a rookies good he will put an equal or slightly lesser player in his place. Thats the way he's always been. Millsap won't be getting much time behind Carlos Boozer, and if even Boozer gets hurt I'm sure he'd put Kirilenko in his place and start Harpring at SF. He was skipped over becuase of size and the fact that he played garbage competition at Louisiana Tech.
Kyle Lowry was overshadowed at Villanova by superstar Randy Foye. He could have a very nice career.Don't sleep on Shannon Brown or Maurice Ager. These former Spartans played for Tom Izzo and they play it smart. Shannon Brown is more athletic, and Mo Ager is more of a jump shooter, but these two could be future starters and possible All-Stars for Cleveland and Dallas.
Someone deleted my post or something? Well, if an administrator did, allow me to repeat myself:The rookies haven't even played yet, so how can anyone of them be considered underrated? How silly!
I think it is meant as "underhyped". And Im going to go with Shannon Brown. Him and LeBron together are going to make a killer combo in the next 2-3 years. He is a great defender, can drive to the hole, shoot from the outside and can jump OUT OF THE GYM.
Jordan Farmar.. *Homer pick* But seriously,Farmar is going to play very well and become a great player.
JJ redickI mean some people thought he was gonna go in the 2nd round.some people even think he wont do well in the nba

Dude, Ronnie Brewer easily. He is freakishly athletic, he can play the point, pass, ball handle, he has a decent jumper. He is just going to be a great player. Great pick by the Jazz. He reminds me of D Wade.

I think he should have went late 1st round or very early in the 2nd round. What pick did he end up being, like 44th? 45th? He can score, he plays defense, and he might not rack up a crazy amount of assists but he can run an offense. I loved watching Gibson and Aldridge together at Texas, they were a good duo in college ball. But Gibson has a chance (and I think he will) to become the backup PG for this team right away, and eventually (unless they go out and get another PG) could end up being the PG of the future in Cleveland.Damn, Cleveland did excellent in the draft, they got 2 steals (Brown.. watch out for him! and Gibson).

What if Bargnani is another one of those first overall picks that turn out to be busts? However, I see potential. I don't guarantee he'll be an All-Star player right off the map, but he'll be good enough to play starting line-up and eventually become an All-Star Game player around his third season or so. However, that's not a guarantee neither.
agreed on gibson. he really does have an extraordinary talent. He'll be a great complement to LeBron, as he's not so much of a true pg. that's why he slipped. I can see him overtaking Damon Jones by the end of the year as the backup PG. He'll be just about as effective on offesne while playing better defense. It'll just take a month or two to get used to the nba pace (he's turnover prone and can't control the pace like a pg should.)
