So a guy who strikes out 150+ times a year & hits 230 is a must but finding a catcher isn't. Your logic never ceases to amaze me Pasta, I'm sorry, I mean Rusty.

...between the 3, I'd rather have Elsbury, then Choo, then Granderson in that order...but I'd be surprised if the Sox don't resign Elsbury.

The only thing that might change from what you said is the possibility of going after Kendry Morales for 1B/DH depending on Tex
I agree about 3B being a stopgap measure, and at the time I had written this I hadn't seen the article about Girardi wanting to check out the Cubs vacancy... but yeah, Manager too...

Again, agreed... he had 7 this year in 61 games which would project to 18.6 over 162 games... Compare that to his 69 K's which projected out to 162 games would be 183.2 (pretty much on pace with past years)

I agree... let him walk and go after Choo, Ellsbury, or both

Ellsbury is awfully risky considering his injuries, and what NY went through this year, and the contract he's going to command.

Choo is getting big dollars, who wants to invest that in one player again? did you learn nothing from Arod and Tex?

No no, i agree there. No more hughe delas INCLUDING Cano. This is all predicated on getting a somewhat reasonable deal. If you have to add 1 extra year, so be it, but no more of these cashman specials including full NTC and opt outs all over the place. The difference here is that you seem to think Granderson is a good player the yankees must consider. I simply do not. His flaws outweigh his positives at this point.

Granderson (currently 32) is looking at about 30 HRs, a .250 BA, an OPS of somewhere between .800 and .820, about 70 RBIs, and about 180 Ks in about 150 games.
Ellsbury (currently 30) is looking at about .300 average, about 45 SBs, about 70 RBI, 75 Ks in about 140 or 150 games
Choo (currently 31) is looking at about 15 or 20 HRs, a .280 or .290 average, about 20 SBs, 60 or 70 RBIs, 140 Ks in the 140-150 games.

They are all about the same as far as RBIs, but both Ellsbury and Choo are better options than Granderson IMO

Of course, they're both better players, but everyone likes Choo, and with the Korean revenue, that guy is going to get a bidding war for his services.

But if they sign Ellsubry for $100 mill + fans will be happy? and if he goes down to start 2014 like he's done over and over? yikes.

Sadly, Rusy, there is what the yankees options are. Standing pat and bringing back a flawed player isnt going to be enough. They either overpay in free agency yet again due to lack of in house options or you just end up with a bad team for God knows how long. Take your pick. Personally i dont see them doing anything in OF. I really dont want Granderson back because he isnt very good anymore, and a draft pick is probably worth more at this point. I think they roll what they have. Too many other areas of need to worry about OF yet, however that does appear to be the easiest to actually upgrade.

What do you think Curtis (swing for the fences) Granderson will be looking for?

I'm guessing in the $13M-$18M/year probably for at least 3 years...

Well he won't get Jayson Werth money, and probably not even Hunter Pence, because Pence was younger, at age 33 next year I think Curtis is looking at a 3-4 year deal in the $60 range, which is not a bad deal, but I agree a better OF should be targeted, and Curtis is not a must sign... for now.
