have you tried Quickoffice? You get 15GB of Google Drive space I believe if you install on your phone.

My parents computer at home isn't a strange device. Or my brother's chromebook.

So, my daughters or sons laptop isn't either. You are advocating any computer or device in the world. How many people have more than 8 computers?

I don't know if it'll work with a chromebook, but maybe Quickoffice (it's now part of Google) would work. On a phone/tablet, you can open/edit MS documents and keep the formatting. Or at least that is what I think it is for. I downloaded it because it had a promo giving extra Google drive storage, but haven't tried it out yet.

I just wanted the free space too. I noticed today that I was using 11GB out of my 15 free....the fuck. Turns out I had the autobackup saving full sized images of my camera photos...need to clear that shit out.

My daughter has her own account. To access that account on my iPad; all I need to do is go to my system preference and add the account and password. All of her files, music, videos and photos are accessible. All I need to do is download them. I can only make changes if I know the password.

Exactly. You'll have to download them. You are not truly living in the Cloud, you are just having devices sync with each other. Its not bad, its just not the optimal setup.

Case in point, I was in Oregon two weeks ago and was at my aunt and uncle's house....wanted to show them photos from recent germany trip so I logged into Flickr and showed them all the pics on their laptop projected on their TV..worked fine. Cloud access is great.

That's not a problem. If my parents have an Apple TV; I can set up the iCloud and access all photos on "photo stream". They don't even need to be downloaded. They stream on the Apple TV.

But to go even further, I can just use my phone and link to the tv and share via apple tv

    On that link I provided.

So what this means is this.

Let's say you may have done something that could be illegal. Instead of the authorities use the due diligence and obtain a search and seizure warrant; they can simply go to amazons and request the files. Amazon will not have to honor your rights because of this section you agreed to when you signed up; basically giving the authorities all your information.

The phone company does. If you have verizon, that movie you just watched cost you about $10.

I did something really stupid when I first got my new iPhone 5s. I allowed cellular downloading and updated my phone; uploading all my email, photos and music. In less than a day, I get a notice from AT&T that I have gone over my 10Gig plan and am now paying $10 per gig over.

I was just kidding, I don't care but I figured since it got bumped I'd update the thread.

I checked out the online MS office but I didn't want to start my free trial since I still had a windows PC in the house. Wanted to save that for later.

Or you can hook an Hdmi cable to your phone. Same thing. It's just a conduit not true cloud streaming

And photo stream is not all your photos. It's very limited and would include cock pics you take.

Very limited? No sir, I have it set for any pictures I plan to send to cloud. It's really not that hard.

You gave me an example of sharing a picture to your family. I can get it done at the same speed; regardless if it's streamed or not.

I understand you like the cloud interface and all the power to you. I don't think it's as innovative as you believe. My opinion, not yours. I shared my reason and you have the reasons why you believe mine aren't valid.

Guess it comes down to both of us saying

    "Not swayed"

Actually it has to do with me being right and you drinking kool aid. You are basically just syncing selected content and saying you are "in the cloud".
