Let me start this by saying the whole team was a disgusting joke last night. And by also adding if Nash is out for a long period of time we are f'd and in HUGE trouble.

With that said, mother f'ing Del Zotto has got to go. I am so done and fed up with this guy. What does he do well? He is soft in his own end, always has been. The next time he wins a board battle for the puck will be the first time. The guy still cannot shoot. If there is a dman to hit with his shot HE WILL FIND HIM. And if there is no dman around, he will simply miss the net anyway. This guy needs to go now. I have said it for 3 years now. Enough is enough. The guy is soft and useless. Still drifts in and out. It is ridiculous. And are we going to give him more money after this season? That is the only answer that matters. His contract is up. He will want more $$$. Unless you are prepared to give it to him, and if they are they are NUTS, he must be dealt NOW. Or 3 years ago...LOL.

And let's not turn this into I am blaming this all on DZ...I AM NOT. The whole team was a disgrace last night. I am just sick and tired of watching this guy. Up and down like a yo-yo. Blocked shot by the dman. Misses the net. Cannot shoot. Soft in the corners. I am so done with this guy.

Deal him for a winger who can score 20 or so goals. Bring up McIlrath. Enough of this with DZ. Double so with his contract up after this season.

This team better pray Nash isn't out long, or we could be in a huge hole before we even hit the East coast.

Hello draft lottery. It's going to take AV a year or two to get the roster to his liking. This could be a washout year. Not enough offense, a leaky defense and a new system. He'll get it done but the roster needs some revamping starting next year. Sather hurt them with extended contracts for the dead weight. Chuck, DZ's stock is rapidly declining, you won't even get a 20goal scorer for him as of now I don't think. By December they should be playing the kids either way, try and deal off Boyle/Pyatt for mid rounds picks and start from there. Think about dealing Girardi for some prospects or a solid draft pick. Bring up CK/JT/Lindberg and let them learn his system. Worst case they end up with a top 5 pick and an impact player. I told you guys it was going to take a mini-rebuild of 2-3 years to get where we need to go, unfortunately by then HL will be 33 but that's the way it is. Hopefuly he dosen't get too frustrated by this year and make a rash decision to leave. I don't think he will but the next offseason will be critical.

I am not giving up on the year after 3 games. If Nash is out for months, maybe, but as of right now it is 3 games. I am not jumping ship with 79 games left. And we are 1-2, not even 0-3.

    1:22AM: Nash said on MSG:
-“I have a headache, it got worse. It was a head shot. I’m concerned the way it feels…You’re concerned any time there’s a head shot.”

1:12AM: Nash told Larry Brooks that he had a headache after the hit, it got worse and that he is “concerned the way it feels.”

Can they petition the league for a 3rd buyout? :)

Wow draft lottery now...but...wha...the talent...all was needed....

Talk about cliff jumping. They took a beat down. Shit happens. The team is not as bad as last night. Nor is the talent as good as the greatest offense "in years" from two nights ago.

I am with you Al. It is THREE games. Settle down. Yes they played like garbage in 2 of 3, but they played well in the middle. Let's not jump after 3 games people.

I am concerned about Nash though. If he is out of a long period of time we are in trouble. We struggle to score as is, and no Nash would make it much worse. No good.

San Jose has a good team that has beaten down all 3 of their opponents and we get them back to back with LA after a 4 days break, scheduling nonsense. Their kid Hertl is up and playing great hockey while our first rounder sits in Hartford. Singling out MDZ for a paragraph of critique and then saying you're not singling him out while giving the rest of the defense a pass is baloney Chuck, your assessment could apply to any Rangers defenseman. MDZ was the Rangers leading scorer on defense last year, thus the hesitancy of some to want a trade on an already offensively-challenged team. This team has needed a physical presence on defense for years to keep opponents from crashing the net, I would be all for trading MDZ for that player but hopefully that's a void McIlrath will fill, guess we'll just have to keep waiting on his development

You can single anyone out. The second goal was a result of Callahan carelessly throwing the puck behind him and hitting the ref.

You guys are making it about one game. I don't give two sh*ts about one game last night. MDZ is not that good. He cannot shoot. He is soft in his own end. He is up and down like a yo-yo. I have been saying for years deal the guy for some O. I am tired of him. Yes he makes a few nice passes. Yes he can score a couple of points. But he simply cannot shoot. Is weak in his own end. And is up and down from shift to shift. I am tired of seeing it quite frankly.

Chuck, I am with you on DZ. Tired of waiting for him to develop. He is not great at any aspect of the game and demands money like he is a top d-men. Anyway I think the guy was rushed to the NHL too soon. They should've let him develop his game in AHL.
I was expecting that they would be pretty much awful for the first month at least. I don't see them being anywhere the top 5 teams this year in EC. I agree with 71. They should call up all the kids and let them play. Look at the sharks, they are stocked with the young guys.

MDZ wants no part of physical play. Have you ever seen him jump into a scrum or stick up for a teammate ? It's not his game. You can live with players like that if they put up some numbers offensively. He is regressing in the offensive department. He was one of the main reasons we didn,t extend Boston in last years playoffs, he was god-awful. Warriors' lift the Stanley Cup. If he continues to unravel you will be lucky to get a 2nd rounder for him.

That's a rough loss. glad i didn't watch the game.

The 4th Hertl goal kind of annoys me. Which the score being so lopsided i almost feel like he was clowning around and showing off. Wouldn't have minded a punch to the teeth but someone on the Rangers.

Vigneault isn't stupid, he may be more soft spoken than JT, but he won't wait to make changes to the roster as he sees fit. I think we'll see alot of shuffling by Xmas. If you can deal DZ and a prospect for some 3rd line help or a dman who can help the PP I'd go for it early on. You just can't have a line with Boyle/Pyatt in any kind of scoring role. Defensively they look flatfooted and HL isn't focused the way he should be so far, but I don't think he's ever been in Oct during his career. They need to get 4-5 pts out of the rest of the road trip. I don't think McIlrath is ready but I'd see what I have in Kreider and Lindberg, even if it hurts them a little defensively, you need to get them integrated. If anything it may lead to a few more goals, especially with Nash probably out for a bit.

Wow a horrendous loss with a new system and suddenly this team is a lottery team???? I admit I didnt watch much last night and the team appeared to not care but this is a long season with a horrible schedule to start with a new system to play. The likely Nash concussion concerns me more than the 9-2 L. We definitely should be concerned but people are way too high after the LA win and way too low after last night.

Oh and MDZ needed to go last year for a winger

I wasn't too high after the LA win, they scored on some fluke goals and caught the Kings on opening night. The defense will come around but the offense is going to be a major problem.

One game. I was hoping for .500 out of the first road trip. That would be amazing. A new system, Hagelin, Cally and Stepan not here all camp. They stunk last night. I do agree, somebody should have jumped Stuart and pounded him. That being said, it's up to the league to suspend him 8 to 15 games. I've said it for years. These pussy 1 to 5 game suspensions do nothing.

We're 3 games in, and some of you are talking lottery already? Don't know about the rest of you, but I waited a long time for the season to start and it's going to take a lot longer than 3 games to sour me on it. Not sure about DZ, but the rest of this team will get better. To be honest, I would like to have seen DZ packaged for just about anybody 2 years ago.

It's way too early to project success or failure. There are concerns but the core of this team is good. Get through the road trip w 4 wins I'm happy
