    I very rarely am sick enough to stay home, that's why I have almost 400 hours of sick leave built up. Well, I have that type of sore throat where you're afraid swallow, let alone cough. Body aches, head throbbing, congested like a motherfucker.

    I'm just going to lay around today and watch netflix or tv. Might go go to clinic for some antibiotics. Have to cancel travel plans this weekend.

    Being sick sucks. I know it's just temporary and shit could be a lot worse but right now I don't care. This just bites.

    I get horrible sore throat illnesses at least twice a year. My secret--pretzel sticks. Suck the salt off the pretzels and it will soothe your throat.

    If it's flu, of course, antibiotics do nothing. Better off with tea and chicken soup. Also try hard candy (the reason so called throat lozenges work is just the sugar.)

    A gay male friend of mine claimed that giving oral sex to a male cured sore throats. FWIW. Personally I prefer chicken soup.

    Maybe, with all the time you have today, you could look up the gun laws in Chicago and DC, where the last mass shootings occurred and help me understand how that could happen in cities with some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country.
