Add some meat in there then. What about Batum for Asik? With Wright and Claver, wouldn't that trade make the team much better?

Only if they agree to take Leonard! :)

That would be something worth considering. I know Houston loves Batum.

If we did that trade, I'd probably move Leonard in another trade.

    (1) I don't think the value is out there at the present time. (2) I believe the LMA Lopez/Robinson tandems will work great if we remain healthy. (3) Our frontcourt in the second unit doesn't necessarily need to be as strong in the defensive/rebounding departments as the first.

Parsons could be better than Batum as soon as this season.

He could... but Asik is not going to be happy coming off the bench. I would figure they have to move him at some point. Not sure what their asking price is though.

Definitely. I like the balance of that trade. You would lose some strength at the wing positions, but 1, 4 and 5 would be very strong and you would have a lot of shooters to fill out 2 and 3.

Also, Batum can slide up or down a position depending on what is needed. Asik cannot.

Yes, and between Claver, Wright, and even Barton or Crabbe, we have quit a bit of depth at the wing.

I don't see depth. None of those players should see more than 10 minutes besides Wright.

Those guys are buried in the 10-15 spots on a team with real depth.

Wright is someone that could log more than 10 minutes per game. He was a decent starter for Golden State. Claver is someone that I think could take over the primary backup spot. Guys like Crabbe and Barton have some promise. I think Crabbe has more promise honestly. I think he's a guy who could be a nice scorer off the bench with some development. He already looks a million times better than he did during summer league.

No, we need at least 25-30 games of this team to start getting attention from other teams to even make a trade. Right now we are so young and unproven but have quite a bit of talent.

The biggest concern right now is injuries. We have been plagued by injuries ever since training camp started. I would love to see our main rotation healthy and playing together. By that I mean, Lillard, Wes, Batum, LMA, Lopez with Mo, Wright, Robinson, and Leonard coming off the bench.

Totally disagree. Claver, Barton, Crabbe are total scrubs. If they improve to more than that great but at this point they are scrubs. Luke Babbit played at a higher level in the 2011-12 season than any of them ever have. There are hundreds of guys on their tier that never get minutes in the NBA and deservedly so.

I hope they turn into something but penciling them in for minutes in a rotation is a big mistake. Unless the team wants to tank.

What exactly are you basing this on?

Crabbe has played two games for us, so far, in his career. Last night he dropped 14 points, 6-11 shooting, 2-4 from deep. 24 minutes of play. The night before that, Crabbe had 6 points, 6 boards, and 2 blocked shots in 24 minutes. Not bad production from a rookie.

Barton scored 13 last night. 5-6 shooting. 2 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocked shots in 25 minutes. The night before he had 7 points off 3-5 shooting in 18 minutes.

I don't think either guy is polished yet, or ready for huge minutes, but I think they've shown enough promise to warrant some PT. Barton has played in much more control than he ever did last season. Crabbe seems to be shaking off his jitters from summer league. Claver isn't a star, but he's a decent glue guy. They're not scrubs, as you called them.

Heheheheheh! I only had a moment at the time, lol.

I don't see why people are as high as they are on Barton. I hope I'm wrong about him, but he looks like a wrecking ball out there. IMHO, Wes is WAY more valuable to us than his quantifiable skill set says he is.

I would not trade Wes with the idea that Barton, Crabbe can fill his shoes. I think that would be a big downgrade at the SG position.

I'm the one who has been pretty vocal about not been very excited about Lopez. But at this stage you almost have to go with him for the first part of the season.

If there is any trade talk for the Blazers during the season, I think it will be about LA.

I actually like Crabbe more than Barton. You're right that Barton is like a wrecking ball. He's like a skinnier Ruben Patterson. Crabbe reminds me of Kevin Martin a bit, but not as polished. He can shoot, he can drive, he is athletic. I think he has a lot of promise.

I haven't seen Crabbe yet, and with CJ hurt, you couldn't pay me enough to trade Wes.

I agree. Wes is very valuable with CJ out. Would you trade Batum though?
