How many of you have been Speaker of the House? How many people in history have? Not many. I don't like John Boehner much, but undoubtedly he has had a distinguished career too.
In other words, Nancy Pelosi spoke at a rally for immigration reform, before a crowd of Americans and immigrants. The shutdown is closing national parks and monuments, which no one in the Tea Party cared about a week ago. The current speaker has refused repeated requests for an up or down vote on lifting the shutdown. I am not sure how Pelosi gets blamed for that, unless you live in a fact free universe (duh!) When things are shut down, no one can get in. Again, duh! I might credit you for caring if you cried about the loss of veteran's benefits. But I guess that's not a good photo op.

She became Speaker of the House. To me, that means distinguished. It matters not how good she was at her job, but the fact she rose to such a position.
She has been in office for over 25 years and speaker of the house so yes I'd say she has a distinguished career. Reflects poorly on OP that s/he would think different.
