I know he is only 18, and he just came off his first season as the youngest player in the League, but Im hearing people say that he will do great next year, and that he is awesome because he dunked on Shaq. I know that was nice, but he it wasnt that impressive. He crossed lead-footed Shaq over, and than slammed the ball in. Wow! Bravo. He averaged 1.6 ppg, and 1.7 rpg. He basically just got cigar time. He is still really raw, so I doubt he even plays that much more than he did last year too. I dont see him progressing all that much either. The kid might be great one day, but next year, he wont be all that special.Thoughts?
Yes, I remember last year in a outing against Shaq. He had one moment where he scored on Shaq, and I remember Laker fans and ESPN talking about it the next couple of days.
Eh... I don't think Andrew Bynum is overrated. He's not even officially on the basketball map. Andrew didn't get enough play time last season to average more than 1.6 ppg and 1.7 rpg. He won't do insane numbers next season, but I think he'll eventually become a starter as the years progress. Though, I guarantee he won't become a star player, I think he'll at least average 15-16 ppg and 7-8 rpg in a few seasons from now. Who knows, though? Remember that game against New York Knicks, when Lakers won by 30 points? Andrew didn't miss a single shot attempt the whole night (only played about 6-7 minutes, though).
Let's see his 18. He has great work ethic. His got the size advantage now with him bulking. I can see why he is being hyped up. He isn't like the other 18 year olds. He works his ass off.edit: You missed why that dunk was big. At the start of the season Bynum said he's like shaq but can make his freethrows. Shaq respond by calling him a juvenile Deliquent.
He showed flashes lat year, and being that he's the youngest player in history, and we Laker fans have a nack for blowing things out of porportion, so we got excited. For the amount of improvement we saw out of him from the summer league to the end of the season, we should expect him to come into the season a lot better. He won't make a big impact at all, but he should get 5 or 6 minutes a game.
He's 7'0" 275 pounds, quick feet and huge frame...obviously has the talent...he's the youngest player to ever play in and NBA game just 6 days after his 18th birthday. Get back to me in 3 years on Bynumite.

He is learning the old school skyhook from Kareem and he could be a playa in this league very soon. He needs to get more playing time.</div>Yeah, I read a recent Kobe Bryant interview from some Japanese website about how Andrew Bynum is being trained by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The interview was lame. The guy was practically kissing Kobe's ass and Kobe responded by claiming, "I was actually afraid of Ha-Seung Jin when I saw him." He just said that because Jin is the first Japanese player in the NBA. You could tell Kobe's dick was being sucked as he ate Japan out (no homo).

He doesn't need to put up numbers to have a great season, he can average 6pts./3rebs and consider it great year. Stats are used way too much in determining on how a player performs (I hate it...llol). You don't see any stats on hustle plays and how a player impacts the game.............yes there are times that we need stats to prove a point and I have no problem with that but we are overdoing it most of the time.
Ive heard a few people say *cough SunnyD* that Bynum will have a big season next year. That's only why I made the topic.
Bynum is not overated . He will have a good season next year, compared to last season. He will get more time, and he's had a solid year of work to mature as a player, and to get in shape for the NBA season.
He is still going to be very raw and undeveloped next year. In no way will he have a good season next year.
I could see him getting 7-8 ppg, and 5 boards a game..If he gets time, he will improve and he will get better, his window for improvement is just crazy..
He is way too raw and unconditioned to get that. He would get killed against elite competition if he got minutes right now. You're drinking the Bynum kool-aid. Maybe 2-3 ppg and 1-3 rpg.

Bynum overrated lol Yeah right. I think hes underrated. The guy puts %100 on the floor when hes in. Last eyar he didnt have that much confidence hes going into the NBA and is the yougest so wasnt that cofident. This guy has the size and talent to be something in this league. I see him in the rotation in 2 years. Another thing Diop was almost the same exact thing as Bynum. Now look at his role hes starting for a championship team. Diop didnt even play alot at Cleveland.
