I'm not sure how this got back to trading Wes, who would have little value to Houston. I think the only trade could be Batum. Nothing else is realistic from their point of view.
If we're even remotely considering a Batum trade at mid-season, it means that we're twelve games below .500, Lililard is hurt, and LaMarcus is on the block wearing a "Fire Sale" sign.
If Aldridge is on the block, I don't think Batum is going. He's still very young and the potential is too high to dump. I'm talking about trying to salvage the season as a playoff team. What holes do we have? It's hard to see at this juncture because of the injuries and because we've only played in two games. I think center could be a big hole. I'm not sure if Lopez is going to be the answer. Leonard is unreliable. He could end up being a good player down the road, but as a backup for a playoff team, I don't see him as a realistic option. He's the Jermaine O'Neal on this team. We need someone stable. Lopez would be a great backup. If we could get Asik, I think he would be a great front court partner with Aldridge. The question is cost. How much would Asik cost us?
Barton and Crabbe need to do more before trading Wes. If we can upgrade at center though, you have to do it.
Seems to make sense for the Rockets. Howard, Batum, Harden and Lin/Beverly sounds like a potential championship contender. The only piece they are missing is . . . . Aldridge.
If they aren't going anywhere after 30 games than yeah. I think we ought to play the Wiggin sweepstakes and see to it that the Lakers don't land him.
Rockets fans have been talking Asik-to-Portland all summer.... ......for LaMarcus Aldridge (or Kevin Love) No, I'm not joking. Gives you an idea of how delusional they are about Asik's value.
Would be ecstatic with this trade. Really like the way Parsons plays the game. Not sure if Houston takes the offer seriously though.
Hahaha. An Asik for LaMarcus trade is far more fair to both teams. Parsons is regarded just as highly as Batum (ranked #57 vs 58 on espn top500). So that would boil down to a Leonard for Asik swap. Umm not a chance in hell. Hey I'd love to add Asik to our squad but its going to have to upgrade one of Houstons starters.
I understand the laugh of the trade if Parsons is that good. But the LA for Asik is just as laughable from a Blazer perspective.
