It figures they would give New Jersey their first win. Down 3-0 not even half way through to a team that cannot score.
I disagree. I believe they're just beginning to find there legs in a completely new system. It will take about 20 games, but eventually they will become the team we hoped they would become two years ago. Don't get me wrong, this is frustrating and it does piss me off, but they will not turn into an offensive force overnight. It takes time, and their will be growing pains. Perhaps starting on the road for the first 9 will turn into a blessing ... will see
This team has been playing a defense first for what seems like forever. You don't go from a team that tries to block 50 shots a game, and just dump and chase, to a team that puts up lots of shots, moves without the puck and quick passes without going through some growing pains. Right now we are witnessing the growing pains. Hopefully it will take less than 20 games, but either way their will be growing pains. I waited a long time for this season to start, and I choose not to give up. You can do what you want ...
With this bad an offensive roster, the defense has to be almost impeccable or it'll be alot of 4-1 4-2 games. It's a top 10 draft pick waiting to happen. Some of you guys seem ultra-reliant on the long road trip/new system excuse. The roster just isn't very good for the most part.
Okay so don't give up. Of course they planned out this new system prior to the start of the season, but sometimes things don't go according to plan. It would have been nice if the Rangers began clicking right out of the gate, but that hasn't happened. So instead of getting pissed off and moaning about how bad they suck, I choose to believe it is just growing pains and they will get better. Eventually the chemistry will kick in, and they will go on a roll. I would rather they start out they 3 and 6 on the road at the beginning of the season, than finish that way. That's what I'm talking about.
At the moment what choice do we have, this is the roster they have. Hopefully soon, they can pull off a trade that will make the offense a little better.
