...every single one of them for Medicaid/OHP, with zero paying for private insurance according to the state. Can't wait to see the budget offset on this one.

The good news, more people are covered. The bad news, none of them are paying for it.

    BUMP

The only "success" for Oregon thus far is that those who qualify for Medicaid, and some who actually were paying for insurance, received letters from the state telling them to sign up for OHP.

How does this pay for itself?

Do you really think you're not paying? That's adorable.

Here is the fatal flaw with the Blue Model (as Walter Russell Mead refers to it). Everything seems "free", but eventually it must be paid for by someone. The wealthy alone aren't able to pay for it, so those "free" things end up costing a multiple of what they would have and that cost is thrown on the backs of the middle class.

Obamacare is moral hazard 101. Welcome to the death spiral. The only problem is that now you can't take it away, you can only subsidize it more.

All states who accept the program get this 100% paid for by the FED for 3 years. 26 states took the offer, the other states are run by republicans.

So Oregon went with the minority and took the Barry money. Check back in three years for the next act.

three years it is then. Ill make the bold prediction and say that in that time Oregon and 25 other states will not pay $1 for extra medicaid, while expanding coverage for people making up to $15800 (roughly) a year. I will also predict that 24 other states will pay for all their own medicaid costs from their state budget and require people making over $11800 yearly to purchase insurance on the market, cause you know their extra $4000 has got to be burning a hole in their pocket.

And where do you think the Fed gets all its money? From us, the taxpayers.

The Fed doesn't have any money to begin with. It just gets added to the debt, which comes out of the individual taxpayers' futures. Or, we'll just print more money, and completely fuck up everyone's 401ks over the next 20 years.

How cruel. Why do you deserve to live but others don't?

Since you don't believe in this civil right preventing people from being forced to die while medical care is available to those who can afford $300-400 per month, let's extend your cruel Republican belief system to other rights.

No one should have freedom of speech unless he can afford to pay $400 per month for it. No one should have freedom of religion unless he pays another $400 per month.

Privatization is what Republicans and Libertarians want. When they control a banana republic, they install comfort for the top 1% and slavery for the rest.
