Results from the annual survey just came out and Portland gets NO love on any level. http://www.nba.com/news/2013-14-nba-gm-survey/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt3a Best one was this question......Which player makes the most of limited natural ability? All the players named were white, I fucking love it. Probably going to piss off ZAGS!
HCP, I'd like to take a moment to thank you. Your contribution to this forum is unmatched. Sometimes I wonder where S2 would be without you. Re: GM Poll. No love is right, another year of flying under the radar. And speaking of Love, can't wait for LMA to make people eat some crow this year.
We all know he contributes so much to this forum, but when you point it out too much he might stop trying or start wanting his cut!
FINALLY....somebody acknowledges me for my greatness! And yes, I'm watching Minny right now playing the Celtics. Portland vs Minny this year are going to be some good games!
If by good you mean more continued Trailblazer dominance of that awful franchise, then yes, yes they will.
First, DeAndre Jordan???? WTF? Second, Earl Watson plays for Portland. Some one wasn't paying attention this off season. BNM
I don't know that I see a problem being left off of any of the things we were left off of. I don't think we're contenders. I think they fairly rated LMA as the 4th-best PF (though if you count Durant as a PF like someone did, then LMA's #5). I don't think any of our guys are going to break out more than Nic (who was called out in "International Player Break-Out") I don't think Dame's a top 3 PG yet. SG? SF? C? Please. LMA's ranked among the best PFs. Maybe we should've been in "Best Offseason moves", but we didn't do anything sexy like the other teams did. Lopez should've gotten a vote as "underrated player acquisiton". A legit Center rounds out a very good starting lineup for us. We don't have a great defense, great defensive players, or a great coach. I think we could've scored a vote or to in "fun to watch" and "homecourt advantage". But that's nitpicking.
I read the survey and ... it looks pretty close  Which categories am I supposed to be outraged or disappointed?
I knew somebody would bring this up. If there was ever a black guy with a white game, it's this cat. Move along now.
I think we're going to surprise some people. I don't think playoffs are outside the realm of possibility, and I think we could even finish higher than some people project.
I didn't have much issue with most of this either, except I would have liked to see Meyers mentioned for the 'best interior defender in the NBA'. Also, the fact Portland didn't get any mention for best home court advantage, but Miami did, seems laughable to me, more so the fact Miami got mentioned. I've seen those crowds and they're not any better than the Lakers. Some of the 'Also Recieving Votes' picks were pretty funny: Sacramento will be the funnest team to watch? DeAndre Jordan would make a good coach? Matt Barnes the toughest player in the league? I think one of the GM's wasn't taking this survey very seriously...
