Two years ago we lost to Sac State, but we were a 9 loss team. Last year my Beavs opened the season beating a #13 Badger team and a #19 UCLA team on the road. Hey I'm sure Riley would love to win every game as much as fans like me. It takes time for his teams to grasp the concepts they are teaching which leads to more late season success and less early season success. When you are one of the few colleges running a pro style offense with NFL gameplans there will always be a learning curve. Should Riley try to get more early season non-conference wins at the expense of performing well at the end of the year? Huh? The Beavers consistently rank at the bottom of the conference in recruiting. Yet a lot of their players end up in the NFL. A few years they have been tied with USC having the most players drafted. You think that reflects poorly on the OSU program?
I think he said it reflects poorly on Riley that he has so many players end up in the NFL but doesn't accomplish much with them at the collegiate level.
