leondro barbosa for brian cook and a second rounder. phoenix gets another big body, and one that can shoot. the lakers get someone who can actually handle the ball and penetrate. what do you think?

I would shoot someone. I don't want to trade a quality guard who will play an important part coming off the bench for another big man who can shoot and would only take away minutes from productive players like KT and Diaw or not get any minutes at all...

Lakers got a good point guard who will probably start instead of Smush.</div>I did it so I could get a perspective from lakers and suns fans.asufan, my thinking is that the suns are pretty weak in the frontcourt and loaded in the backcourt. yes, barbosa is very effective, but banks will surely overshadow him. so barbosa would get very few minutes playing behind nash, banks, bell. Brian Cook is a great offensive player, and a big body.

I'm fine with our frontcourt, unless we can get a guy who can specialize in rebounding and defense, but we won't. Cook isn't that good at rebounding and can't block shots, it's just a waste. Barbosa will get minutes. They love him and he has become a very good player. I see both Banks and Barbosa getting around 20 minutes. Nash will only get like 30, hopefully and then Banks will get time. Raja will get a little more and I'm sure he'll play a few minutes here and there at SF when we have a smaller line-up out there so Barbosa will get minutes too. Someone with so much skill won't be traded to a rival for a bench warmer who will take time away from Diaw and someone who can rebound and play D AND can shoot, Kurt Thomas.

I'd do it but it'd be so one sided. Brian cook can shoot.... and yeh that's basically it. Suns need a guy who can block shots or atleast rebound the ball.

The Banks signing allows Barbosa to come into the game at the off guard position and play to his strengths. Rather then coming in the past years and having to distribute the ball. Plus didn't they just extend him? As for Cook, he's a big yes but he plays much more like a perimeter player. With the perimeter players they already have, he's not the kind of big they need.
