...originated after the marathon bombing...but now is being parlayed into among other things another way of saying "we're in 1st place" and "we're in the WS" by Sox fans.

...a lot of it is a rip off... businesses and people other than actual victims are profiting greatly on the misfortunes of others.

...I also have no idea how Boston was so "strong" or stronger than any other city befallen with a calamity such as the marathon bombing.

What did the city sacrifice or endure anything above and beyond what any city would do? ...hell, most of the victims were not even from Boston.

Did the many many Boston hospitals pick up the tab on medical care for the victims?...hell fucking no, and why?...well because they're "strong" of course.

Was the Boston PD efficient in apprehending the perps?...hell fucking no, in fact, they botched it and very nearly allowed the other bomber to escape. If a private resident had not call the police and told them "Hey, you're guy is in my boat" who knows what might have happened? The boat was in the same yard that was supposedly meticulously searched earlier by law enforcement...yeah, great job there, take a bow Inspector Clouseau.

Is the firm overseeing the donations for the victims doing it for a noble cause?...hell fucking no...they are making millions.

...sorry for venting but presumptuous and holier than thou crap like this just ticks me off...besides, the Yanx are not playing today and I'm bored.

I cannot stand them and hope they lose. Hopefully the Cards don't give away games the way that the Tigers did.

Still can't believe how badly Leyland screwed up the 8th inning of Game 2. Ortiz was 2-18 against Coke, and 2 days later - same match-up came up, and Ortiz was then 2-19 against Coke.

And the whole Boston Strong is a complete and total rip-off of Jersey Strong. The media is in fill compare it to 9/11 mode, thinking what happened at the marathon is anything like what happened in lower Manhattan and at the Pentagon.

Made several trips to Britain between '74 thru '79 and it seems that the IRA laid bombs in London like chickens laid eggs. I came close to getting a couple myself. I remember bars in Boston where it was considered to be nice to "give for the cause". People may have thought the IRA was being cute for whacking the Brits but when doing so in an International City like London it was actually an attack on all nationalities in the vicinity of the blast. I never saw Londoners running around with London Strong gear afterwards.

I have no plans to watch any of this WS until it gets (if it gets) to the Cardinals up by at least 2 runs in the 9th inning of a game to close out the series. Before then - Buck and McCarver will be insufferable with their Boston hand-jobbing, and I think we may see a first - Dustin Pedroia bungling a ground ball because he has McCarver strapped to his leg, trying to unzip his fly, and suck him off during a game.

    …and how it's a team of destiny.

…and how the Boston model is the model of the future.

…and no mention of Ortiz' failed drug test.

…and no mention of a ground ball actually being routine after Pedroia dives for it.

And can these phonies who all of a sudden came to Boston and decided they are beard guys button their friggin jerseys? They look like bums.

...to be honest, I'm kinda surprised that so many feel the same as I do about the "Boston strong" thing...actually, I thought I'd get a lot of flack about it.

...the bombing was a horrible event, but I just have a problem with a group of people piggy backing something and then trying to somehow draw a correlation between that and a fucking Baseball team.

...this turned out to be a pretty decent thread...maybe this "venting" thing should be an every day "off topic" kind of thing...I know I feel better now.

...tomorrow's rant du jour?..........Miley fucking Cyrus.

That's precisely it. It's not a sincere sentiment. They turned a tragedy into a stupid gimmick, as only they can. It's no rallying cry for the people, it's Cowboy Up 2.0
