Watching RealSports on HBO and there is a video game called League of Legends and there was a world championship at Staples in LA. The whole damn place was sold out. The winning team won $1M!!!!!! As geeks yourselves is this kinda' your dream or ultimate goal?

The athletes in the NBA do not contribute anything more to society than the LoL people. here's a guy who is not on one of those teams, but streams his play and puts together videos and lives off ad revenue. One thing I wanted to point out about pro gamers, which have been around in Korea since about 2000, is that they peak at about 19 years old, then their reactions drop. People have to "retire" from pro gaming competitions by about 24 or 25.
SC2 players make bank as well. Six figures bank. A lot of them just stream their games and then charge a couple bucks for people to watch. In a global economy, a couple of bucks to watch might seem like nothing, but if 20,000 people watch you play, that's $40,000. Hell, if only 4,000 people watch you play, that's $8,000 from one game.
That's Star Craft 2. What I think is hilarious, is that LoL is based off of DotA, which was a free modified map for Warcraft 3. Blizzard could be making so much more money than they do just off WoW. :Brace for extreme nerd rage from HCP.:
