nobody because their GM is actually worse than Sather is at this moment and forfeited this years pick. I still can't get over that moron not giving up the 31st pick in the first round. What an imbecile. Just goes to show you GM's lose it like players.

If Nash isn't going to play a lot this year, this team is going to draft high and should commit to a rebuild and play the heck out of a lot of kids and get them ready for next season. That means dumping tools like Boyle, Stralman, Pyatt, if they can, Richards which most here think is impossible. Probably Girardi because they won't be able to sign him and they can get a ton for him. Girardi is a pretty stand up guy. I think he would sign with the team that traded for him.

I could see the Rangers being fine if Nash comes back and plays like Nash. If not, this team won't overcome it at this moment. He basically is the offense. Without him and Cally, Stepan is useless because he has nobody to pass to.

    Beating the NYR 4-0...:).

But yeah, that was a terrible decision. He should have given up that late 1st round pick in a second. That had to be ego involved there. And maybe him saying I am getting older, need to go for it now. Which makes it about him and not the organization. No way should he have said I'll keep this one because I can deal a wrose one in the next few years.

This years 1 is a lock top 10 for them, and maybe even a top 5. Very dumb and shortsighted decision.

As for Richards, if he plays well as the season moves on, I do think it is possible they can flip him at the DL, but:

    1. The team that deals for him must have deep pockets. They would need to pay him the remainder of this season AND have a buyout ready for him after this season. Which means giving him a TON of money for many years. So it must be a rich team.

    2. I don't think we get any real trade value for him. The "value" is getting out from under that contract, and not having to buy him out and pay him ourselves. I can't see some team giving up a good player or pick or prospect for Richards AND taking that deal AND having to buy him out and pay him for years. If we stink as the season moves on, we should be happy just to rid ourselves of that deal for a late round pick. That is the "value" IMO.

    3. If they can deal Richards and save that 2nd buyout, I wonder if there is any shot they buyout Nash. I think it all depends on his head. But I wonder if they would think about doing that if this season becomes a mess with his concussion issues.

I thought you couldn't buy out injured players?

You can't, but I don't expect him to miss the full season. If he does then we will be saying with the 3rd pick in the draft the NYR select...LOL.

watched the highlights of the 'nucks -Devs game and both goals were Schneider's fault. That team is going to be terrible now and for years to come. Traded a top 10 pick in last year's draft and won't have another top 3-5 pick in next year's draft. What a mess, lol.

Absolutely need to unload Girardi. We would get a 1st rounder and a real solid player or prospect for him. If Paul Gaustad can be traded for a first rounder I salivate at what Glen will get for Girardi.

Maybe they'll be bad enough to get Nylanders son, who looks like a true top C(which we don't have, and don't argue Dump :) ).
