He grew his hair and beard as soon as we dumped him years ago. He was always quite tall. The difference is he was full of Duke pride here and didn't work. The Pacers kicked the ego out of him and he started trying.

Brazil has a ton of big men: Splitter, Nene, Varejao and now Vitor. Shame about Fab Melo, though.

At the time I wanted Drummond. And even now, after Lillard dashed any concerns people may have had about him leading up to the draft, I still would probably take Drummond if only because there are a bazillion good PGs in the league, and only a handful of good Cs. I think an argument could be made that we'd be a better team with Mo Williams / Andre Drummond than with Lillard / Lopez.
Please don't take this as Lillard-hate - I really like the guy and am very glad he's on our team.

I just don't agree. You can't get by without a go to scorer which Damian is. We had Roy and before that........... PF's that relied on someone to getting them the ball down low at crucial times.....

IMO you have to have someone who can create their own shot at the end of ball games. Sure Defense and rebounding is important but you can get a Lopez type to do that.

Tired of drafting big guys. They get get hurt way too often. All that weight on those little joints take a toll.

I think with this move and Jamal Tinsley signing in Utah....... The Suns have moved past Philly and the Jazz as the worst team in the NBA. #FullTankMode

Good deal for the Suns. It's a shame Okafor earns so damn much or maybe we could trade for him. I wonder if the Suns will waive him/buy him out.

Wither Kendall Marshall? I really wanted him in last year's draft, I blush to confess.

Makes sense for both teams. Wizards could be a solid playoff team if healthy. If they don't make the playoffs they are guaranteed of keeping their top12 pick, as the west always has the 13-14 picks. No sense in the Suns keeping Gortat, they are in in tank mode and Gortat was one of their best players.

Hey I just realized this helps us in game 1!

Damn he makes $14.5 million! He is an expiring contract though. If we had some dead weight contracts I'd be very interested in picking him up. Might be a guy we target with the MLE next summer.

The more I think about this the more I like it for the Suns. I don't think Gortat is that much better than Okafor, they both are expiring contracts and the Suns get a first rounder out of the deal.

I'd offer Earl Watson a spot on the coaching staff, honestly.

    Cut him, sign Marshall.
