Considering the way things wre working out regarding Vince Carter's family life, does it even matter what the nets do this year? It just seems to me that the Nets could have a 50-win season (which is ridiculous) and VC would still leave.Do you think the Nets should trade him and try to get something out of him before he leaves, or should they just hold tight and work with the cap space that he will give them?

I havent read the list of free agents after this year, but I am sure that would have something to do with their decision. If there are no good free agent SG's after this year, they will probably trade him. If there are, they will probably do a sign and trade after the season.

Nets are definitely a lottery team pretty soon. Kidd has maybe a few years left, Carter's probably leaving, Jefferson's not all he could/should be. If Marcus Williams comes along though, that helps a lot.

They should trade him to the Celtics for Wally Szczerbiak, Brian Scalabrine, and a sack of marbles. Kidding aside, as a Celtics fan I really hope they deal him out West. He KILLS us when we play him, especially last season, and I particularly remember one game where he absolutely went off in the first quarter. In a realist point of view, the only way I see him getting dealt is if the sh*t really hits the fan and he starts affecting the team. If he shuts up and plays I don't really see any reason for them to deal him unless they got top dollar in return. That's a different story if he doesn't cooperate though.

I think they have the ability to beat the Heat and contend with any West team for a title this season. They added some depth through the draft and a couple FA's. But I agree they have a limited window of opurtunity.
