    Lindy's!

    Back in the 70s and 80s this time of year, I'd go to the grocery store magazine section every week until Lindy's appeared. I'd pay anything. Then in the 90s, as the baby boom generation got older and more serious, sales dropped and October basketball yearbooks disappeared.

    Grocery stores all sold dirty magazines mixed with all the other magazines, until Edwin Meese talked corporate chiefs into stopping, late in the Reagan administration. "America is back."

    I got the USA Today, Lindys, SI, and Roto World from magazine stands. Don't know if Street Smith or Athlon still do theirs though.
