<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>KIRKLAND, Washington (Ticker) - The Seattle Seahawks will be without the NFL MVP for a while. Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander will be sidelined indefinitely with a small crack in his left foot, coach Mike Holmgren announced on Monday. It is uncertain how long Alexander will be sidelined. Holmgren said at his media briefing Monday that Alexander's injury is a non-displaced fracture. "You lose the MVP for a while, it's a hit," Holmgren said. "Let's face it, he's the MVP. We're not going to sugarcoat it." Alexander, who was questionable on last week's injury report due to a sore foot, rushed for 47 yards on 20 attempts with a touchdown in Sunday's 42-30 victory over the New York Giants. Coming off a record-season, Alexander had gotten off to a slow start in 2006, failing to reach 100 yards in any of his three games. He has rushed for 187 yards on 65 attempts (a 2.9 average) and two touchdowns. Maurice Morris will take over as the starter in Alexander's place for the defending NFC champions, who are off to a 3-0 start. Morris has rushed for 872 yards and one touchdown in five seasons with Seattle. Alexander, 29, enjoyed his best season in 2005, winning the rushing title with 1,880 yards and setting a single-season record with 28 touchdowns. With Alexander leading the way, the Seahawks reached the Super Bowl for the first time in their 30-year history. The Seahawks rewarded Alexander for his big season in March, signing him to the richest contract in NFL history for a running back, an eight-year deal worth $62 million. Selected 19th overall in 2000, Alexander is the only player in NFL history to score at least 15 touchdowns in five straight seasons. He has rushed for 8,004 yards and 91 touchdowns and added 193 receptions for 1,409 yards and 11 scores in 99 career games.</div><div align="center">Source</div>Huge blow for the Seahawks, but it's not like he's been doing much lately anyways. They have a solid backup in Maurice Morris though, so they should be okay for the time being. This also means one other thing...THE MADDEN CURSE LIVES!!!
Not only does it suck for the Seahawks, but for all the people that own him in Fantasy Football. Luckily I'm not one of those people. Alougth now I might add Morris to squad for a few weeks in my leagues.
Holy sh*t. Im starting to believe the Madden Curse. Peyton Manning better refuse to be on the cover next year..

That was the first thing I thought of when I heard the news. Seriously though, he's one of the most underrated backups in the league, he should do well. (except next week, they have Chicago)Damn, I just checked and he's already at 21,000 + pickups in yahoo. Hahah, you better hurry up pj.

I just hope he does well. If he puts numbers anything like Alexander does, I'm good. I'll have two or three great rb's in all my leagues. Steven Jackson, Morris, Cadillac Williams/Fred TaylorLarry Johnson, Morris, Warrick DunnRonnie Brown, Morris, Fred Taylor/Jamal LewisHopefully he can give me 15 pts a week. This last week was horrible. Plaxico Burress, Antonio Bryant, Thomas Jones, and Kurt Warner all gave me sh*t.
haha, I had Barber, Plaxico Burress, and Chad Johnson all give me sh*t, but I miriculously won because of Matt Hasselbeck and Willie Parker combining for 48 points. Well actually, its not over yet. If Joe Horn does sh*t, and Crumpler gets over 10 points then I lose. I doubt that happens though, and im betting Joe Horn gets atleast 4 or 5 points. This is in the BBW league btw.
