Right now, there are the following "notable" players (as I can tell) on recent waivers: Marcus Camby Kendall Marshall Shannon Brown Josh Howard Fab Melo Renaldo Balkman Justin Holiday Hilton Armstrong Lou Amundsen Chris Johnson Joe Alexander Jeremy Tyler Chris Douglas-Roberts Seth Curry Malcolm Lee Josh Childress (MickZagger adds Damion James Lester Hudson Brian Cook Scott Machado Most (if not all) of these guys are super-"meh" at best, but would you take a flyer on any of them? And in general, would you rather take a flyer on someone like Camby, who you know can play, but may be broken-down...or someone like Marshall or Seth Curry, who is young and could develop but may never be good enough to play?
Don't know why, but I would love to bring back Camby. If only to teach Leonard how to run a high post offense
I don't really remember Camby's vet leadership during the Felton fiasco. And he's 39 years old. Yuck. If Leonard is the kind of guy who needs role models, he just has to look at the damned immigrant who took his jerb. Get on the Nick Collison life plan to secure a role on this team, and then add in the whole Vlade Divac diva jump-shooter/passer thing next year when you have a little credibility. Nobody on that list excites me. They were waived for a reason. I'd rather the team focus on what they have already.
there are a couple that I would like on the Dleague team to see if they can develop, but none should suplant wnat we have right now.
Kendall Marshall. He would be worth the low risk gamble, and as much as I like Earl Watson on the team, I think Marshall is much more valuable.
Okafor wouldn't be bad.... I would definitely like to see us solidify the front court a bit. I like Marshall as a long term investment, but Okafor would be pretty good as a backup center.
How will that work? Does any team have right, or will it be based on last season record for first right?
I think someone posted that it comes down to cap space and then record from last season if multiple teams want to pick them up off waivers.
Signed him on Friday, waived him on Saturday. Howard is going to the D-League on the Spurs' Austin team.
