Ugh. It's just bad. The last lines of it are so contrived. It makes me cringe at how corny they are becoming.

the last line is a bit wonky, "we don't give up in Rip City" or whatever it was, but I liked the overall tone of the promo.

I can see why somebody would say that. Sure it's contrived, but most commercials are. Overall I think Dame is being real and authentic.

I liked the composition of the video, the classic footage, scenes of Portland, and highlights of Dame's career thus far, got me pumped up for the future.

That last part kills it for me though. It's almost like he didn't want to even say it. Not that he didn't believe it, but he said the line like "This is going to sound dorky" and it does. This isn't on Dame at all, it's the PR machine trying to contrive emotions. If you like the team, you shouldn't have to have ads telling you to get excited.

But, then again, everyone knows I hate anything media/commercial related. Only had to watch it because it came on before a youtube video. If there was a way to NEVER see an ad again, I would sign up. Though, that would probably come by way of an ad, ironically.

Serious question.....how long have you been watching the NBA? I really don't see how this promo is any cornier than the any other promo for any other team in the last few decades.

I am with you on ads in general though. Other than sports I rarely watch any TV show live. Other than watching some supermodel eat a hamburger, I prefer to FF right through them.
