Seems like the defense is back on track with AV but the kids are snakebit right now. They need to get a veteran scorer in here. If they have to give up MDZ to do it, so be it.
Rinse and repeat...LOL. We all say the same thing over and over. I don't understand why it doesn't happen. To be honest, I really have no idea what the plan is for MDZ now. If they don't move him does that mean they want to re-sign him for 3 or 4 years and decent money this summer? This MDZ thing is very weird to me. Even though I have wanted to deal him for 2 or 3 years, it is worse now because it is so clear they need to deal him now, yet they don't. Very strange to me what they are doing with DZ. I can't figure it out. That play he made on the almost goal in the 1st period was pretty darn funny.
Hell no. Hemsky has almost no value because of his injuries. I would want Hemsky and the Oilers first round pick for MDZ and they would be lucky to do that. Offering a pick is beyond insane. To me a package of MDZ and Boyle should be able to get a player like Brouwer and either a first or second round pick. Brouwer is not great but he's another very physical wing with great size and some ability to be 20-20. Let's face it. The Craps can't play any defense. MDZ is a huge upgrade on their pathetic defenseman core and Boyle gives them a good checking forward. I probably would insist on the first round pick. Brouwer is 28 and is at most a 20 goal type over his career. MDZ can be a 20 minute guy for the next 10 years on their defense. I figure the Craps will surge in the second half like always and draft no lower than 15.
I would imagine the Caps know all about MDZ, and would want nothing to do with him. DZ should have been moved 2 years ago, now they will be lucky to get a veteran scorer and a draft pick.
You would imagine wrong. Del Zotto dominated the Craps 2 years ago in the playoffs and was good last year vs. them. Del Zotto's bad playoff series came against NJ and he wasn't good as most weren't vs. Boston. Rangers fsns can't get it thru their thick heads that MDZ isn't a bad player. He just doesn't look good compared to Staal, Girardi, McDonagh and Moore. Well, other teams don't have near that type of talent on their defenseman core.
DZ may have value around the league, but it won't be with the Caps. Why would they want an offensive defenseman who has trouble putting the puck in the net?
Can someone who's been watching the hartford wolf pack share how big mac is doing down there and if he looks ready to come up here and break some heads yet?
