Both Robinson and Lopez have a chance to win it, I think. Batum and Lillard are also possible. What do you think? Who are the other contenders around the league?

I think out of our team, it's gotta be Lopez. Around the league, I think it's gotta be Drummond.

I think you may have something here.

Robinson on the basis that he is considered "damaged" due to his being with so many teams in his short career.

Lopez on the basis of potential turn around of a team with him in the middle.

Batum I dont think we see anything we have not already seen.

Lillard, poor lad, will not get a most improved. People expect him to be good to great already. I think he has a better shot at an all star appearance than most improved.

If Freeland becomes permanent backup he has a shot.

Mike Dunleavy. Now that he's playing for the Bulls he should get a lot more time and touches.

Meyers Leonard has shrewdly positioned himself to be the runaway favorite for most improved.

Sophomores are an easy choice - such as Bradley Beal, Anthony Davis, Andre Drummond and Jonas Valanciunas. But if we have to go with someone who's been around a while, I say Boogie Cousins.

Freeland has obviously improved a lot, but it's from "total nonentity" to "possible rotation player" which doesn't tend to win you awards.

Actually, if I had to pick a Blazers player, I'd go with LaMarcus. He looked amazing in limited minutes and seems to have found his voice.

Lots of people forgetting about Victor Claver. He should some real promise last season.

Rookies (ie Crabbe) can't win MIP for obvious reasons

I really HATE this award and think top 5 picks who simply get more minutes or are healthy shouldn't qualify for it. With that being said I think Anthony Davis is who I think will win it.

HUH? McCollum can't win the award either!! You can't win it as a rookie.

So do we all think Victor Claver is just lost in the Blazers roster or is he just not that good? I'm a little baffled that there isn't more talk about him.

Somewhere in the middle. He is unfortunately the dreaded tweener forward. I think he should get time on the floor when we are struggling on defense.

Watching Claver I really like the guy. He is an all around player, unfortunately he doesn't do any one thing great and he isn't an amazing athlete(compared to other NBA players) he just does most everything good. If he can develop an consistent 3 point shot and work on his rotation D then I could see him being a glue guy in the league for years in the Dunleavy/Dudly type of role.

Earl Watson already wins our Most Ignored Player trophy. If he returns to his former glory, he wins Most Improved.

He reminds me a bit of Coby Karl, in that you watch Karl in a game and he does a little bit of everything. Just not quite well enough.

Still, if Freeland can turn it around, that should give ANYONE hope. Claver's main problem seems to be mental. He needs to believe in himself. Hey: does Earl Watson speak Spanish? (I know there are self-styled Hispanics who cause Panic who can't, so the fact that Watson has played for Mexico doesn't settle the issue.) If so, maybe he can help be a Claver-confidence-booster.
