He's going to have to wait for someone to get injured, because he's on the inactive list right now.

I agree with all of this. There is no way a Rookie of the Year can win MIP the next year. It just doesn't make any sense. However, on the 'KingMags" level of homerism, Batum could Possibly, big IF, play like an all star and win a MIP.

In Claver's case it's not bad to have a few tweeners on the end of our bench. Unfortunately for him it makes him 3rd string for two different positions. But there will be injuries so fortunately for the Blazer's they have a guy who is 11th or 12 on the roster who can play when needed. And he will be needed.

As for MIP.......on the Blazers I would go with Robinson or Joel. But per Batum, it sounds like it could be Damian. That article in the Oregonian a few days was pretty encouraging.

Claver is much more Keith Van Horn than Karl..

    MIP: John Canzano.

    Oh wait, fuck John Canzano.

I think the MIP of the Blazers will be Robin Lopez, though a lot of people might not see it because his stats won't ever be crazy. But they might go towards Joakim Noah status, and if so, watch out.

MIP around the league: It'll probably go to Anthony Davis or something, though I detest it going to top picks like that.

Umm Keith Van Horn was way better than Claver will ever be. You forgot how good Keith was early in his career.
