She's gorgeous, MarAzul. Are you a naval architect, or are you building to other plans?

I wanna move to Bandon, become a diehard Neo-con and build boats from scrap wood. They should write a book about your journey.

At age 13 living in Hawaii, I built a boat. I cut the wood and it was beautiful. I figured I'd see where it leaked and patch it till it was waterproof. So I took it to a beach and it sank straight to the bottom. I was so disheartened that I gave up. It was too waterlogged anyway.

    That is fantastic MarAzul!

I can't imagine the planning and work that would go into something like that, but it is a lifetime accomplishment. Just to cost of the lumber along must be staggering... I do woodworking on a tiny scale and the cost of the wood is crazy. Did you mill your own lumber? Do you plan on living on the boat?

Some of the stuff I do in my spare time:

So Mar is a pirate, that explains his unique posting style.

Sly, perhaps you know of how to foreword this on to Spam. He may get a chuckle from
    the P51/Spitfire analogy.

Poke fun cuz we all mostly disagree about most of his opinions, but that's a pretty fucking rad boat. I wish I had half the talent to build such a ship.

Yes Paxil, the wood was all milled here mostly prior to starting construction of the boat. That was a project all on it's own with drying. planing, and shaping steps. Some of the planking material is up to 27' long 5/16' thick, 3' wide. I don't know any place to buy stock the material that went into the construction of this boat. The property here, near Bandon was purchased because it would be the source of the material for this project.
