... who watched the series and who didn't? ...I can honestly say that I did not watch even one pitch of the whole series. I just could not bring myself to pretend be the least bit interested in Boston's nasty looking group of players.
I stopped watching baseball altogether this post-season right after Ortiz hit that GS in Game 2 of the ALCS. At that point - I knew this would not end well, and sadly - I was correct. But at least I did not have to watch it.
I followed closely, tuned in 3 times for a total of 2 full innings of work. One of those times was just in time to catch Gomes hit a 3 run homer. All I needed to see. There's not a bigger bunch of phonies who are all of a sudden beard wielding dirt dogs now, infused with whiners who bitch about every call and have the nerve to call out the unfairness of per users on the other team while they huddle around their very own. All the while they are happy to see one of their pitchers break the rules nd have it be swept under the rug by MLB and the media. Am I coming off as bitter at all?
It's the World Series so I watched, predicted a Cardinal win ended up being wrong. Wondered why the St Louis team fell apart, Wainright and the young quickies failed against Boston and became Roid Boys bimbo. Sure was glad to hear long time Boston regular Jake Peavy tell those stories of how great it was to be a Boston after his short service. So the Steinbrenners and Cashman need to wake up and do something about the "Strong" winning 3 series in 10, that is a Yankee thing what is up H & H. MLB Network has now joined ESPN as Boston shills, they need to getrid of some people over there and get back to neutral territory.
I watched pretty much the entire playoffs this year. Really enjoyed them, outside of the outcome and the Yankees not being there. Was some good baseball, some bad baseball and of course the poor hygiene of the Red Sox... Pretty much knew as soon as Boston got around Detroit that they were winning. Prince Fielder and of course the Detroit bullpen really jacked that series up.
The world series was some pretty ugly baseball from what I saw and read. I did watch almost every other series and it was good stuff. Would have enjoyed it a lot more, even without the Yanks, if the insufferable Sox were not part of it.
I remember a bitter Orioles Fan once telling me that the Yankees Championships were all bought and paid for, every one else won fair and square. I will agree with what Reggie Jax once said, when the Yankees win the series it is a great event. Unfortunately they didn't make it. I have respected the Cardinals organization since I became a fan of the game. Stan Musial was right in there with players I wanted to be like when I was a kid.
I watched it just hoping the Cardinals could beat Boston but when their offense was as putrid as it was they had no shot. It reminded me of some Yankee games where they would have 3 hits in 9 innings. Makes me wonder what a Dodgers/Red Sox world series would have been. Probably more offense for the Dodgers than the Cardinals had.
It's hard to watch a team stupid enough to allow Ortiz to tee off on them and not bother to change their approach until they were down 3-2 in the series.
I channel surfed and stopped to see a score. After this past season I was exhausted with baseball, the Yankees and the FO.
