Alex Gustafsson will fight Little Nog in London on March 8th. If Gustafsson wins he will get a title shot. As we know Jon Jones will be fighting Glover Teixeira in the meantime.
Re: Gustafsson vs. Nogueira announced Gusto will out-work and out-pace Nog by a mile. I don't think he will get the finish. Too much on the line to take a chance. Classic UFC move by giving him a title shot before he's earned it or before we even know what happens in the Jones/Tex fight.
Re: Gustafsson vs. Nogueira announced; update: Nogueira injured, out Nogueira can't make this fight and a replacement is being sought. No doubt the UFC would like to see Cormier step up. Mousasi would be an equally good choice.
Re: Gustafsson vs. Nogueira announced; update: Nogueira injured, out chael sonnen @sonnench 10s Lil Nog: the only man who has 'no-showed' more times than Axl Rose.
Re: Gustafsson vs. Nogueira announced; update: Nogueira injured, out Is anyone really surprised by this? Swear on everything I've actually been meaning to Come in here and post: what's the odds on Nog pulling out? Had to be at least 60% he would.
Re: Gustafsson vs. Nogueira announced; update: Nogueira injured, out Somebody said this was the fifth fight Little Nog has pulled out of and the second time he's pulled out of a fight with Gusto. I can't recall someone pulling out of a fight this far in advance (five months).
Gusto will fight Jimi Manuwa (14-0, 3-0 UFC) in London. All three of Manuwa's UFC bouts have ended due to an injury to his opponent, one caused by Manuwa (Kingsbury's eye), two were freak injuries (Diabate's calf tear, Jimmo's Achilles' injury).
