Why only 24 hours. He was permanently banned once and was allowed to come back and continues to do the exact same shit. How many chances does he get? Have some balls and enforce the permanent ban. It was well deserved and the right thing to do. Undoing it makes zero sense. BNM
It's not like he's been crazy and out of line. He's just being a constant bitch. As irritating as it is, I don't really think we should permanently ban people for being bitches.
So, why was he "permanently" banned in the first place? Why hasn't that ban been enforced? Why bother if you're just going to let him do the same shit under a different username? Speaking for myself, he makes the forum much less enjoyable. He's so prolific, he infects almost every thread with his trolling and baiting. Even with him on ignore, it's still irritating as others fall for his bait and then perfectly good threads get derailed and become useless. I come here for intelligent discussion of Portland Trail Blazers basketball, not to provide group therapy for some whiny child who is desperate for attention. BNM
I didn't ban him the first time, nor did I really pay attention, so I have no clue. I don't disagree. He bitches to unrealistic levels, it's just annoying because it's on the negative end. By the same token, Mags does it to the opposite degree (Mags, we cool FAMS, just using use as an example, you anti-Mixum). He's positive, so it's okay. Some might say it detracts, but if you're just giving your opinion, why should they be permanently banned? I agree with temp bans to remind people to reel it in.
Completely agree. There is no good reason to allow him to continue to troll this board. He never has anything constructive to offer.
But he's not just giving his opinions, he's deliberately trolling the forum and baiting other posters. That's against the forum guidelines and the reason he was "permanently" banned in the first place. BNM
I would argue that Mixum isn't actually giving his opinion, but is posting intentionally negatively for effect. Not seeking to be a part of or contribute to the community, but intending solely to disrupt it.
Yep, makes me wonder how many good posters we've lost because of him. I know I enjoyed the forum much more when he was banned. BNM
I've met enough Negative Nancies in this world I just picture mixum as a negative, super-toxic pain with no friends and a piss-poor worldview.
EXACTLY! And that's why he was "banned" in the first place. Refusal to enforce that ban is a cowardly joke and an insult to the posters who come here to actually discuss Portland Trail Blazers basketball. BNM
Agreed, but it's not my job to solve his problems and I don't want him polluting my favorite forum with his "issues". BNM
I think the fundamental difference is that Mags actually is both negative and positive about the team. Yes, he's a little over-zealous in some of his beliefs (top 3 seed), but it's not like he discounts you for not believing him. I've seen Mags be negative/down about the team FAR more than I've seen Mixlito be postive about the team. That, in a nutshell, is the difference.
Because I try and at least try to provide something substantial to the board. No offense taken. Mixum actually tries to rile up the forum. Only time I do that is on the OT section.
Thanks man! Although my blazer world is Rose colored, I can admit our deficiencies. But we will be a top 4 team. That's not a troll either!
I think the difference between a pissed off fan vs. someone who is just trying to piss us off....is pretty obvious. It takes about 3 posts to figure it out. It gets old really fast.
I do think mixum occasionally does bring up legit things for discussion, but always from the negative perspective, which is where we often can't differentiate between him pointing out legit concerns and him just trolling.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not sticking up for him. Just think the banning and restricting is lame, unless you're really causing significant problems. Not speaking directly to the case of mixum, just in general.
