I hope your right Jetes. If they were to do so, and I hope they don't, but if they did, it would certainly preview the fact that getting under the cap is no longer a concern...
At some point, the Yankees need to learn how to cut ties with players like Hughes, Nunez - players they have woefully overrated for years. 2013 should have been the last chance for these guys, and both failed. As such - time for Cashman to admit failure with these guys once and for all, and be done with it.
Doubt it. What really blows about Hughes is you know the guy is going somewhere else and will be at least decent, and probably better, in the prime of his career, not that I think he would be good as a Yankee but it will sting to see that happen, this is not an easy team to be good on.
I agree - I have no doubt that guys like Hughes, Joba, and Nunez will show something more with new teams than they have/will show if they are kept around the Yankees any longer. Problem is that the fear and embarrassment factor of that happening can no longer influence irrational decisions to keep them around.
The hole Yankee philosophy seems so wrong doesn't it? We were so good for so long, it masked so much.
C'mon White Sox - don't let us down! There's a lot of cats in Chicago that need to be rescued from trees and old ladies that need help getting across the street, and Curtis can really help you out there.
