Two University of Chester students dress up as the Twin Towers (NOT Hakeem and Ralph) and won a contest for best costume at a night club there.

Twat is a popular insult over there, but I don't think it's harsh enough.

I have a very broad sense of humor, but this is indeed offensive to people who lost their life in 911.

It's offensive to me and I did not lose my life in 911. I don't even get the humor in it. It's shocking sure, but funny? Not in the least.

They're not even that good of costumes, how did they win the contest?

I think it's tasteless while not being funny. If you're going to be tasteless, you have to at least be very funny.

Sometimes you've just got to store your outrage for something more important. If you're using it all day every day you become a miserable asshole who cries wolf.

    Thanks a lot, Obama.

My sister has a friend, a couple where the woman is 5 feet tall and the man is 6'7 and every year they try and do a costume that incorporates their heights, like last year Jolly Green Giant and a sprite. Well, this year they went as Khloe Kardashion and lamar Odom. The man went in full makup (is that blackface) and hung a crackpipe around his neck. So the question running around their circle of friends is, is that racist, just in bad taste, or completely acceptable.

I'm of the camp that sometimes you need to be in blackface, otherwise your costume sucks.

    oh..hey look...its tyrone biggums.

It's not really blackface if you're specifically mocking a certain person. Blackface was intended to mock an entire race. So if he didn't paint his face black, but he wore an Odom jersey, would that still be considered offensive?

Meh.... I'd agree. But the one on the left has a nice shape.

He probably just could have worn the Odom jersey and a Laker hat, and people would have understood the joke. Sounds like the guy lacks the PC filter, which is somewhat admirable. Problem is that the guy is going to now be known as the guy who wore blackface on Halloween, no matter how it is spun.

    What an idiot.

No, to me, that would be just as funny, and without the potential to offend others.

Some would say that Blackface is akin to Kabuki, and not always intended as a slight but rather a caricature. That can be done to any race or sex in comedy etc.

The blackface makes the costume.. without it, it's hardly a costume at all.

Why the hell would he not make his costume realistic if he wanted it to be good?

I think all of these costumes are funny. People take things too seriously. I find nothing wrong with jokes even if they are about tragic events.
