Houston Rockets: They don't seem to understand that they need a PF. I realize this team has had lots of needs after drafting Yao Ming but this is going on year number 4 and they still have nothing now or in the future at the position. Everyone list one...

Seattle Drafted SENE when they had Petro and Swift. (All 7ft, all projects) They needed some defense! A SF or a backup gaurd.

I thought they should have drafted a backup SG/SF as well but it isn't a big need.

The Hawks didn't fill the need of drafting a point guard. They could have gotten Chris Paul, but they drafted Marvin Williams, another small forward to go with Josh Smith, Josh Childress, and former Hawk Al Harrington. They got lucky signing Speedy Claxton, Paul's backup last season. It seems as if Denver never fills it's shooting guard needs, until this past off-season. They've had Julius Hodge, Greg Buckner, Demaar Johnson, and Voshon Lenard, but those guys don't scare anyone. J.R. Smith is a major improvement.

[IMG] you're obviously oblivious if you don't think they've been trying to do that. drafting al jefferson? perkins? ryan gomes? you definitely underrate the hell out of the celtics frount court. Paul Pierce scores as many points in the paint as almost any post player in the league.

NJ Nets need help downlow. Desperately. If they hung on to Sharif they'd be in a much better position, possibly for a title.

Sure, they have Bruce Bowen but he is 34(almost 35) and he wont be able to keep up his defensive intensity for much longer. They need to draft a hard nosed college player or a foreigner that knows how to play the game.

Shareef and him are completley different players. Shareef is not a true PF. Josh Boone is a good rebounder and a great shot blocker. Sure, he will be injured for half of his rookie season but if it doesn't affect him for the rest of his career, I have a feeling he will be very successful. Like the rest of the UConn grad's in the past decade. Also, isnt this thread about teams that dont fill team needs? Last time I checked, when the Nets drafted Josh Boone, they were filling their team need of PF/C.

They need to win NOW though. VC will likely be gone after this year, Kidd is not getting younger, and it looks like they want to get into rebuilding mode by the time they get to Brooklyn. They don't have time to wait for Boone to develop which will likely take a few years. Getting a proven PF in Sharif would have been fantastic.

Sharif is not the kind of player that NJ needs IMO. They already have alot of offensive scorers and they need somebody to play defense. We already know that Boone can do that. You dont really need to develope your low post defensive skills as much as players making the transition from college to pro need to improve their offensive skillset. If he got in the weight room, I could see him being instant help on the defensive side on the ball where I think they lack. Its not like NJ new that he was going to get injured...

VC migh tbe on the move, Kidd is aging fast, and very soon they will start rebuilding. This next year could be the last chance for them in a LONG time.

Wow, I murdered that spelling. Sorry about that...But yeah, as I said before, Shareef would have instantly gave the team 7-8RPG, a presence inside that would also immediately help the scoring load. I feel in short term he would have been a better fit than Boone.

Cleveland Cavaliers- They didn't get the PG everone was hoping for and we didn't trade away Luke jackson as we all wanted to.Brown is a start but I think we needed a PG and didn't get one...

Re: Teams that don't fill needs.

Shareef would not have been a good fit in New Jersey. An undersized PF who doesn't really play down low at all. A better fit would have been Chris Wilcox or Al Harrington. I could see Al Harrington helping the Nets win the East, had he signed with the Nets. Of course, the Nets didn't have the cap for him though.
