Irony is my favorite type of humor, followed by sarcasm and satire. Not everyone finds the same things funny. My ex-wife, in particular.

I like your deal but what about this, very similar. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mu9ntxj Rockets also add 2014 pick.

I like this. My question is how many years until Monroe needs an extension? Regardless, Monroe has been the only target I've been able to think of lately. But after reading this thread there are a few others that interest me:

I don't know anything about Mirotic, but I've seen a lot of talk about him - so I'd keep this one on the table.

Probably the most risky, but I'd keep this on the table too.

And finally, I'd take a look at this - no qualms about taking Lee back.

There is no way you would be able to get both Barnes and Thompson. I'm not as high on them as most people are around here but, come on, that is way too much to ask for.

I think you're right that it would probably have to be Lee and Barnes/Klay, but are you saying you would not like that deal. Seems good for both sides to me. If money is not your main concern but getting a younger player for your future to go with Lillard, then who cares about Lee. He's decent enough, will give you some production, is better than the FA power forwards that change teams every year, he's off the books in 2 seasons and he is only there to make salaries match. I personally believe that Aldridge's remaining few years for Barnes is fair deal.

This thread is baffling. The whole supposed premise is that LA is too old for our core of Dame et al. Yet we apparently want Asik who is barely a year younger than LA.

And no one has yet to address the fact that having a core between 23-28 is nearly the same age group and the team everyone tries to emulate in San Antonio has a wider range than ours.

I'm not much of a Lee fan. I think he is too "one-dimensional"; which is why a fan of Golden State would be fine trading Barnes or Klay with Lee for Aldridge.

I'm with you. I think the "age concern" is a serious flaw in debate.

The only way we're trading LMA this season would be if things went to complete hell. If that happens, it will be full on tank mode. Aldridge would be dealt for a young talent and a draft pick. Who are the most likely lotto teams year?

    Boston?
    Philly?
    Utah?

And who out of those teams could contend enough for Aldridge to resign with them?

I actually like Lee, as long as you understand he is a bad help defender (his man D really isn't that bad even though he will never block a shot) and have peices that can cover up for him. He brings a lot of good things to the table, though. Great passer, good handle, can score a lot of ways even though it's not always pretty. Talent wise, I think Portland would be winning that trade by a wide margin but it seems to be a good fit for each team. GS will have to choose between Thompson and Barnes in 15 or 16, depending on who they keep, and this improves them in the next 3 years, while they have a legitimate shot at doing some damage. For Por, you get a young potential all-star to go with Lillard (ot sure how well Barnes would fit with Batum, though, so maybe Thompson is better for you).

We aren't trading him to a Texas team. None of them have anything to offer.

New Orleans is pretty close to Texas. I wonder if we could put something together with the Pels...

The pelicans would be interested because Anthony is good at what Aldridge lacks. But who else could we get from them?

But Lee is a year older than Aldridge and more injury prone. Plus Aldridge is an all star as well.
