It's unrealistic to expect fans to not have unrealistic expectations. I for one am enjoying the success and ride and will be no less of a Duck fan when the performance slips...
Going on your rivals forum and telling their fans how they should view things the day following a crushing loss is douchebag Troll behavior. Are you really this oblivious? STOMP
It's OK. Most of these 'fans' hate Oregon more than they love their own team. Any rare loss that Oregon suffers gives them an opportunity to feel more secure and good about themselves. We lost to a very good team. That's it. No excuses. We lost. It happens to the best. We are still one of the top teams in the Pac and one of the top 10 teams in the nation. We have the opportunity to earn yet another BCS game. It's a great time to be a Duck!
Hold the phones!!!! We lost to Stanford a team that for the last two years would put every team in the SEC on their asses, and would go punch for punch with the almighty Bama and we spotted them two fumbles in the red zone, and a field goal on the opening drive and still damn near won while our QB and DAT are not near 100%!! This while also playing some of the worst defense we've played EVER!!! Let's give some respect to STANFORD!! Stanford has 26 seniors and two tremendous lines! If they had not lost to Utah, Saban would be buying quarts of Pepto trying to figure out how to beat a smarter version of his own team! Stanford played their best game against us and we had a perfect storm and lost by six! You think the coaching staff at Stanford didn't see Marcus not being Marcus, DAT not returning kick offs and feeling fortunate as hell that they got called for only 10 yards of penalties all game, while going helmet to helmet against Huff? Perfect storm and we got sucked up in it! That said we didn't get blown out and those are DAMN GOOD STANFORD O and D LINES!
I'm seeing these BS headlines like "Stanford owns Oregon etc", come on, we lost two close games on very fluky plays. I know, Stanford deserves credit, but many times football games against two very good teams come down to fluke plays.
Oregon left 14 points on the board minimum imo (dat fumble and TO on downs) not to mention the other fumble, and all the stupid penalties...end of the day though, that's football, when you have an off day you can lose
A Husky buddy of mine was going on facebook, going on and on about how the Ducks suck, their fans are bandwagon the team chokes every year. All these other Husky fans started chiming in talking shit about the Ducks. I was the lone Duck fan that had the cajones to say anything. I basically said, "sad how far Husky fans have fallen when their only achievements these days is when the Ducks lose one game a year". That was the last the post in that little discussion. Game. Set. Match.
I feel the same way. Last year I thought would be a rebuilding year, so I wasn't totally devastated when we lost... but I really thought this was our year. One loss and it's done....
OS fans root against the Ducks more than they cheer for their own team. That's been apparent for some time now.
Get your chins up, Duck fans. The players will be back next Saturday, and need the fans at Autzen to rip it up. I think the Stanford/USC game is 50/50 at this point, and a Rose Bowl against tOSU would be a nice rematch.
Thats how I felt as well. I haven't been on FB or Twitter since thursday or answered most of the txts I got about the game, mostly because I didnt trust myself to read any of the people glorying in the Ducks defeat and talking shit without losing it. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
It's amazing how many OSU fans take more pleasure in the Ducks losing than they do in the Beavers winning.
Some people call that "Little Brother Syndrome", but really, my real Little Brother is one of my best friends, and is a great dad to his own kids, as well as a great uncle to my kids. I just think OS fans typically feel inferior. I saw so many car flags just 3 weeks ago, and now? They're all gone.
I know, that's the shit thing about college football. It's the only sport where you lose one game and your hopes of winning it all are down the toilet. Every champion in NBA and NFL history (except one) has lost at least one game along the year, and they get a chance to prove the best through competition, in the playoffs. If this were "next year" Oregon may have a legit shot a #4 and getting to a playoff.
USC is playing fearless ball right now..... home game for them, and Stanford may get caught! I think Auburn may shock Bama too. What will be a gut punch is if FSU and Ohio St. play for the big trophy with the resume they walk in with. Miami just got smacked by VTech, and they looked bad doing it on their home field. The ACC and Big 10 are just bad football conferences right now. This year they may indeed be rewarded for it!
