Heard about that on "Hot Stove" this am and was a bit surprised, the Braves won't have twenty at Turner by the time they complete the move. From what I heard on the same programming there will be hotels, shops ect, ect built on the same site.
!. It is by no means a "done deal" yet. And though they don't want to lose the Braves, the problem is Atlanta's and Fulton County's, not the Braves. If you've ever been in downtown Atlanta, you'd know what I mean. This could possibly be a ploy by the Braves to force Fulton county and Atlanta to change the parking and somehow address the traffic problem and stay. It's a great stadium to watch a ballgame in but even though the Braves have been winning for years they have watch their attendance drop. 2. There is no "fleecing" of the tax players again really, because if the move is eventually made, the tax money will mainly come from a different county...and the generated revenue will find its way back to that county. 3. Most of the season ticket holders are from 10-15 miles north of Atlanta, closer to where the proposed new stadium site would be.
It's pretty much a done deal... http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/9965245/turner-field-demolished-atlanta-braves-leave-new-stadium-2017-mayor-says
...hammer, since when did you start believing what liberal democrat politicians say? ...besides nothing has been decided for sure on way or another and a lot of things can happen between now and 2017...we don't even know if the current mayor will even be in office at that time. (he's up for re-election) ...this is the same guy who is endorsing spending $1 Billion for a new stadium for the Falcons.
