    I think they left off the last part of the name.

    Joking aside, horrible name. I am guessing this gets fixed quick or AFL will be again short lived in Portland.

    I wonder how many hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue this will cost the team. People here are dying for more legit sports. Timbers support is great. It seem like some management is trying to screw themselves. Maybe they want the team to tank so it can move to LA.

    I remember when the Timbers MGMT caved to demand to alter the new logo, maybe the Portland AFL MGMT will take a tip from that playbook and change the name.

    Yeah, I thought of that Portland team when the Thunder became the Thunder. They should have just gone with the Portland Storm instead.

    Ridiculously dumb move. If the other names were worse, that's still no excuse. Pick good names to choose from in the first place. Seems kind of obvious.

    Just as Oklahoma Thunder are more appropriately named than Portland Thunder, Portland Timberwolves makes more since than Minnesota Timberwolves. (Let's not start the Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies, etc talk -- been there.)

    I kind of like "Growlers". The NW is the original micro-brew capital of the world.

    I am extremely skeptical that it will work, regardless of the name. AFL flopped the last time it was here.

    One of the options being kicked around was the Gray Wolves, which I found acceptable.

    I liked the Sasquatch, but my submission didn't win.

    I hope they'd go with Buckaroos, but I like Steel Heads too.

    But Thunder is a dumb choice. But who cares, this team will fold or leave within 2 years anyways.

    This is a really smart move. The OKC Thunder's logo and lettering suck. If the Portland's logo looks cool they'll have a ton of sales from OKC.
