http://www.washingtonpost.com/sf/local/2013/11/09/washington-a-world-apart/?tid=ts_carousel This is a pretty cool map. You have to zoom in on the portland metro area yourself though. It shows high income and high education by zipcode. Points go to the burbs on this one!
My neighborhood is far from the highest income, but it does have the highest percentage of college graduates of any in the portland metro area. barfo
Yeah, it closed, what, 2-3 years ago? I used to work a block or two from the one in SE (102nd). Lotta trash in there, but the food was so tasty.
What's a good favorite old school burbs spot to go? Last year I had my bday dinner at Golden Crown in Beaverton. Brought back so many good memories of the past, fucking love that place. Might do that again...or thinking of somewhere else. The Old Spaghetti Factory on the water is also a good old school spot. Anyone ever go to "Royal Panda" in Bridgeport? I used to go when it was at Washington Square Too.... http://www.yelp.com/biz/royal-panda-portland-2
Has it been that long? Hot damn. I'm pretty sure I took the kid there once, though, and she's 5.50. So 7 seems too long.
I went to Sayler's in Portland earlier this year, it was really bomb. The Relish plate, the sourdough bread, the onion rings, the mushroom sauce...
BTW, that's TWO of my friends from LA that have been to Portland in the last two months and are considering moving there now. hah. I loved growing up in Portland and Oregon. So fucking great. Burb life was dope....bored weekdays in the summer driving around the back country roads bumping some NWA. hah
The Village Inn by Bridgeport is one of my favorite old school spots. Much cleaner these days than it used to be.
used to always eat at Koon Lok right there back in the day. Few friends lived in Durham. I remember Chuck Wagon used to be there as well. hah. fuck that place though.
Anyone else weirded out by the enclave of Lake Oswego. Its so weird going into that city for some reason. :MARIS61: I used to always go to Wunderland, but rarely ventured past it although I used to play Tennis at Mountain Park.
Anyone else used to "pre-game" at the Starbucks in the Beaverton Fred Meyer? Just hang out there before heading downtown. Sometimes shotgun some booze in the parking lot? hah.
