It's the kind of thing my 6 year old does and giggles at how ingenious he is. I try not to think less of him for it, because let's face it, we're all kind of dumb at that age.

Why grown men would do it is beyond me.

First of all, Wallace was in Portland for work. The local media had every right to ask him why he hasn't "Cut The Check" that he owes on his property.

It wasn't a charity event, either, so I have no idea what you're talking about. Are you saying the Brian Grant is cheating on his taxes? Why drag him into this, at all?

Probably for the same reason we get a coach called "Ass Clown" or "McMuffin", a PF called "LaMarshallow", or a 21 year-old center called "Leonar_", I'd guess. Crazy thing is, those are much more recent examples of grown men acting like 6 year-olds, yet people take issue with the "Rashweed" thing from 10 years ago. :dunno:

Did you or did you not see the Detroit staff separate KATU from someone trying to do their job?

I used the Brian Grant example to hopefully get you to see that your personal hatred of Rasheed is blinding you from seeing what is and is not acceptable for the media to do. I have no idea what Brian's personal finances are, but know if he were treated the same way there would be outrage.

I don't hate Rasheed Wallace. Hell, I gave him a standing ovation when he came back to the Rose Garden as a Piston for the first time. I don't feel at all sorry for him, though, and think he should pay his taxes. It's unreal to me how he is a victim in this. At least I now know that not only is he an asshole to the media, but he's also a tax cheat. Quite the winner.

Can you blame the media for going after him, after the BS he pulled as a Blazer toward the media while in Portland. He refused to ever be interviewed. You reap what you sow, and I have literally zero compassion for a multi-millionaire tax cheat being called out by the local media.

It is his choice whether he pays his taxes or not. I do not know the details, guess that you or KATU do not either, and trust that the legal process will take care of this.

...and it's the public's right to know who is refusing to pay their taxes. Rasheed was an absolute jerk to both the media and fans in Portland, and now he has people saying he's the victim for the media legally calling him out for being $150k behind in taxes.

The public has the right to know, but does not have the right to know why. Is it legal to bring a camera crew to harass someone at work?

The media called him Rashweed. You retort that some posters use derogatory nicknames. Sorry, it's not equivalent.

The local media were jerks to Sheed. He responded the same as anyone would. Sometimes he told them off. Sometimes he passively remained silent and wouldn't play their game. Sometimes he claimed they really didn't bother him, pretended to not care, and said the abuse was just part of his job, so just cut the check, and he wouldn't care about the local Breitbart-like terrorist gotcha media from KATU and the Oregonian.

(Did I mention I'll be including KATU from now on?)

Yes. 60 Minutes proved it is years ago. Don't pay your taxes, and you may get called out on it. I don't understand the outrage. Seems to me the guy cheating the county out of money should be the villain.

PapaYoda is getting dangerously histrionic again...over nothing. Using words like fraud and cheat leaves credibility at the door.

Rasheed owes some taxes, and will pay them no doubt. I'm sure everyone here has paid a bill late at sometime in their lives. I have, but nobody felt it was newsworthy.

The sophomoric smear attempt by cub reporter Dan (No Nose) Tilkin ignores the many bigger unpaid tax bills and the bigger stories about the shady characters owing them, like the owner of the burned-down Thunderbird Hotel on Hayden Island who owes nine times ($1,350,134) what Rasheed owes and is under suspicion for torching his hotel to collect insurance on it. Or well-known business Ross Island Gravel which owes over $600,000 on it's various properties. Both debts are also a year older than Rasheed's.

Both the Thunderbird and Ross Island tax cheats have been covered extensively in the Oregonian. What's your point?

As far as I can tell, his bill is being compounded with interest and fines, and if he fails to pay, the county takes his house (which I'm sure is worth more than 150k)

So I think they are making out just fine

I don't really take issue with Rashweed..... I just never thought it was very clever, even then. Of course, I never liked Vescey very much, so there's that.

I think Blazer fans have come up with some pretty good ones over the years.... Crawful? That's sharp. LaMarshmallow was pretty funny. Failton. Bo Outlaw. Never really understood the Ass Clown thing though...

LaMarshmallow was my favorite. Marshmallows are hilarious.

Meh, I don't really care much for name calling of any stripe.

I will admit that Assclown McScribbles makes me laugh, though. Not so much because it describes Nate McMillan very well, but because it perfectly captures the impotent rage of an angry internet poster.

It's the same reason this picture makes me laugh every damn time.

It's not the dog--it's utterly rage-filled retarded poster. You can't help feel a little sorry for the dog, and it makes it funnier in a weird way.
