Who's Production/Ability is being held back thanks to other players on the team? It's pretty hard to explain, I can't think of the right words to describe this category.Andre Iguodala is being held back. Allen Iverson and Chris Webber are taking the scoring away from Iggy, but if Iggy had a bigger role, he would easily have 18 ppg.Ike Diogu is also being held back. Troy Murphy currently has his starting role. Once Ike gets the right amount of minutes, he can average 15 and 9. Until then, Troy Murphy is the starter.

Webber does hog the ball alot and take bad shots but problem with Iggy is his confidence. AI passes the ball to him but he doesn't want to score. I'm sure BigMo will enlighten you on this.

Webber is the one who won't take a lower role for the younger players like Iguodala. Iverson isn't holding iguodala back much at all. I was so pissed when ESPN magazine tried to say it's because of Iverson that Iguodala isn't developing a ton.

Now, I see why people aren't blaming Iverson because he's just such a great player, and I pretty much agree, and Webber is on the decline so he needs to back off a little bit. But, you still can't argue that Iverson dominates the ball more than 99% of the league (not necessarily a bad thing when you are that good, just saying). But I will agree that Chris Webber needs to back off and take a smaller role (and maybe use his post talents more than his mediocre mid-range jumper). But I also agree with Heatfan that Iggy is very passive a lot of the time. He has all the talent/athleticism/defense to decome an All-Star in this league, easy, but he needs to look for his shot a little more often. He's unselfish, which is good, but sometimes he's a little too unselfish.Adding to the list: Gerald Green. I know, he's young and raw, but this kid can play. Does he need to work on his defense? Hell yes, but so does every kid that comes out of high school. Gerald might not ever be able to flourish in Boston because Pierce/Wally/Allen are all ahead of him right now. Allen is only ahead of him due to his defensive ability, but Pierce is a superstar and Wally is a guy that plays 33+ minutes and puts up big scoring numbers. But I will say this, if Pierce or Wally go down with an injury (god forbid), Gerald Green will step in a produce. I think if Gerald was in a situation where he could be given playing time, he would play excellent basketball. If Gerald gets the oppertunity (injury, maybe we trade someone) he will produce, but as of right now he's definitely the odd man out.
Iverson is NOT holding Iguodala back, period. Well, atleast not as much as Webber is... and the biggest thing holding Iguodala back is his lack of offensive agressiveness (but then again, that could be traced back to Webber). All CWebb does is sit at the free throw line and shoot jumpers... nothing else. Also, Iverson is forced to make sure Webber gets his 20-25 shots a night, otherwise he'll start whining and crying, etc., and that takes away from everybody elses offensive opportunities. Yeah, I understand when Webber is hot, keep feeding him the ball. But seriously, when he's 5/18 shooting jumpers, and doesn't realize he might want to move his fat butt to the low block and try scoring from there, then we don't need to be giving him the ball.Iguodala CAN score 18-20 points a night with both Webber and Iverson shooting 20-25 shots per game... I mean, look at the first few games after the All-Star break. Iguodala lit it up because he was confident and was looking to score.Iverson BEGGED Iguodala to look for his shot, he PLEADED with him, but as somebody said before, Iguodala (and a lot of other Sixers, aside from maybe Korver at times and Salmons the ballhog) just passes the ball back. This year... I'm hoping for atleast 15 points a night from 'Dre... and possibly more if Webber sucks it up (which I'm hoping).
Hmmm...interesting topic. Immediately I thought of T-Mac in Toronto when I saw the title...I'd say Richard Jefferson. He has only ever been the "man" on his team for about a month or so, and he played great with very bad players. Right now he is at 20/7, and is on a very good team which I bet if you asked him he would want, but I feel he could be better than what he has shown due to always playing in the shadow of other players.Another one, as mentioned, is Iggy. Yes, he is somewhat reluctant to score, but he has tons of ability that might be hindered in development by the 2 stars that overshadow him and demand their shots.
